How is the weather in taganana all year round? I've seen videos and pictures, it seemed nice but not that much sun.

I have been up there in the last week as well at other times of the year and it was very pleasant in what has been a period of good weather, there is always a breeze as in Punto Hildago where surfers make the most it. We have been in Santa Cruz for the last month and the weather has been great. Puerto de la Cruz was'nt so good on a visit last week but not cold but no sun....A resident told me that it had been quite misty lately.

It's an amazing area to drive to and through for a day out. The Mercedes mountains have a tropical feel about them, they are lush green and humid. The commerce is limited to farming and a few bar/restaurants. A lovely day out but I wouldn't count on any sunbathing.

An hour on the bus and the best value 75cents you'll spend in Tenerife.

Because it's perhaps subsidised for the locals who live there, as for sun there was some shining on the Roque de Conde the day we were there, although facilities for sunbathing would not be considered ideal. a few coach tours stop for lunch at the Casa Africa and the other restaurants. but don't hang about long.....

The bus no 946 goes from the Santa Cruz Bus Station lower deck from where the urban buses go, The best one to get in fact the only one between 6.55am and 13.10pm is the 10.30am. Enjoy the ride. Best pick up a timetable and plan accordingly.

Is that road safe to drive? Seems a bit dangerous. I'm actually planning to buy a house there.

The road is driven everyday by visitors to the island and should like so many others be driven with care, The locals I have met there are very friendly and appear to appreciate you being there..........

Why would the road be dangerous?

Seems to have a lot of curves and is pretty tight. I was looking on bing weather and it shows for the all year round Taganana weather, and it says:
January 2-8 degrees, feb 2-9, march 3-10, april 4-11, may 6-14, june 10-18, july 14-23, aug 14-22, sep 11-18, oct 7-14, nov 5-12, dec 2-8. Is this close to the truth? Seems rather very cold.

If you're in the mountains it can get cold but the taganana coast line gets hot between may and october.
