It's hard work getting caravans ready for the weekend especially when it's p**ing down with rain and you have some men putting up a scaffold in front of your windows and blocking out all the light. At least I had the Indian IPT T20 cricket matches to watch while I ironed.

No going out tonight either as OH was trying to put together the farm mower after he and his friend had taken it apart. Will it ever work again? I doubt it - I think I'll send him out to do it the old-fashioned way with a scythe!!!

However, the bar is now open, there's lots of food and a huge supply of drink which I carefully hid before the hatchet men had a go at my eye. Didn't know that Malty Mo, did ya? I have given out the password to all the people who were nice to me and only they will be allowed to get in. (And before you say it, yes, it will be a lonely old night!!)

Thank you for all your good wishes, insults and risqué remarks, and the card from the Queen is now sitting proudly on my mantelpiece (they don't do telegrams any more!).

Sadly it was the big farm mower which had a problem so the OH couldn't cut his grass for silage and he needs it to feed his stock through the winter. However, all is now mended and he is a happy OH - or is that because there is the Pepsi IPL 20/20 cricket on tv, plus qualifying for the Monaco Grand Prix, plus golf, plus all sorts of other things, which makes him a very happy bunny!!!

Sorry, warbs, no plane, but if you get here I can arrange food and the OH will be happy to let you get started on the combine (a 1967 Claas Matador!).

Well, you could if you could get it through the garden gate, kb, but you'd need a tractor to tow it so it depends on the size of your lawn!!
