How do I get an NIE number as a non EU citizen?

Me, my bf and a friend are currently in Tenerife and would like to stay here for three months. We are from Macedonia, which is not in thr European Union, so can we get a NIE number? If we get that number it will be easier for us to find a job, so we really need the information.
