There is an icon for inserting images directly here.

It's the 2nd one over from the envelope icon and I believe you must first reduce the image to under 98 KB.

As I always use externally linked photos from my album sites I haven't tried the direct link.

Maybe I will try one now.

Not much luck. Must be doing it wrongly! You have to click on the link but the photo doesn't appear embedded without clicking.

Otherwise when using your photo from an external link you put the URL in the space between and it comes out embedded and file size is not an issue.

MM you don't download it, but rather it's a website you join and have free storage use for your photos. Once you store pics there, you can find the URL address for that photo (locator code starting with http etc) to put into your post between the IMG codes as I mentioned previously. Just Google Photobucket and follow instructions on how to join and upload your photos.

MM if you wanted to put a photo directly into a post as a link, as my example on the last page, look at the row of icons above in the compose panel (The blank box where you write your message.) to the right of the yellow smiley icon is a row of 6 icons beginning with a blue earth globe. Choose the 4th icon, click on it and follow instructions in the popup window. That directs you to choose a photo on your computer which will upload as long as your photo is under 98 KB. This will give a blue link in your post that others can click on to se your photo.

If you prefer to have your photos embedded in your post. (you see the photo without having to click on it) then go the other route by uploading them to Photobucket or any other photo hosting site. I use SmugMug and PBase but they are not free.

I have uploaded quite a few pics and videos are easy - I know where to go on here it's every time I paste a link into the URL box it doesn't like it - just done it now with photobucket and it says invalid file - I have even manage to resize in photobuket .

Other fora I go use the same bulletin board and I always click the 3rd from the right in the icons above the dialogue box. Uploading videos is more difficult as you have to upload to youtube first or photobucket and then provide a link. It is fairly easy once you have done it a few times.

Here is a video via youtube (if it works)

I find that the forum's "insert image" button doesn't work reliably.

If you open the photo on photobucket, there should be a list of links to the right.

Click the bottom one, and paste that directly into your forum post and it should appear perfectly.
