Can you use a UK solicitor to buy a property in Tenerife?

a friend wants to buy a property here, but wants to use his UK solicitor --is that legal ??? he wants to buy direct from a UK owner -NO estate agent involved

Whether he can, or not, I don't know... However I'd ask myself if a UK solicitor would be fully conversant in Spanish purchasing laws and procedures.

My mum is buying a place right now and I'd recommend her solicitor if they need one.
