Greetings all,

We are on island for the next few months on a practice retirement. We are learning loads and enjoying almost all aspects of Happily Ever After here.

From our base in not very loud Costa Silencio, we are looking at our social and transport options over the hols for Los Cristianos and surrounds.

The following questions have been asked locally and have gleaned several varying answered. Please add what you know and what you think...

1. Do busses continue to run Xmas day?
2. Bars and restaurants open Xmas?
3. What multiple do taxis increase over the hols?
4. What is better or worse over the hols in Tenerife south?

Looking forward to any comments...

Best wishes
Jeff

Welcome from me

25th is not considered Xmas by the Canarians 6th of January is dia de los reyes this is when most places will be closed.

They celebrate the 24th Dec night with family meals so some places may be closed on the 25th.

Not sure about taxis and buses - someone be along soon -

Buses will be running as usual according weekend and festive time tables, and quite reliable. Taxis are always out there to earn money! Bars and restaurant likewise! Have a lovely Xmas :)

Thanks guys. Good to know. We have been here a dozen times for hols but this is the first as 'residents'. Really enjoying things.

Every day a new adventure...
