This is in Los Cristianos, last one in the row of bars going on towards Arona Gran (but on other side of road)
There is a thread about Vista al Sur in Las Americas closing down, well all the staff and owners etc are now at this new place - it would surely have helped them if they had put a note at the old place saying where they had moved to!
We have eaten there twice now, there is a large terrace but we chose to eat inside both times.
Staff are reasonably good and efficient, dont expect 5 star treatment but they are polite.
I ordered the lamb chops and the plate was full, at least 7or 8 chops cooked to perfection with lovely chips although not good veg, its the usual frozen stuff but salad garnish is nice.
Friends had sole fillet which was massive and another friend had a huge sirloin steak. If anything the portions can over face you a little bit, but that was always the case at the old place anyway.
The daytime menu is particularly good value, menu of the day is 2 courses with glass of wine etc for about 7 euro.
Worth a visit and will go again but miss the stunning view over the sea they used to have on Geranium Walk.
Their name is a bit misleading as they dont seem to specialise in paella at all.

Vista al mar was their old name.

They possibly did put up a notice but more than likely it was removed by the opposition.

Will be going to La Bueno Paella to eat & see Pasqual.(the owner) next time we are in Tenerife.

We will also give it a try - hopefully they will do well, I seem to recall this location has had a number of different eateries over the past few years.

We tried a new restaurant last night after a recommendation from a friend that lives here, I can't remember the name at the moment lol, but it is next door to the queen vic along the front up from desperate dans and Big Ben, it is a Spanish owned restaurant and the food is lovely, I had a t bone steak with chips salad mixed veg for €11.50, and there was so much on the plate, every time I tried to cut the meat, something fell off:lol:, my wife had the very good value fish chips peas and salad for €4.50, the batter was a little to dark but the fish inside was lovely, my niece had the tomato soup and a pizza for her main meal, my brother I law had the same as me, so with 2 t bone steaks, 2 fish and chips, 1 soup 1 pizza 3 large beers, 1 wine and 6 diet cokes the bill came to about €50, if you go, just skip through the front of the menu and go straight to the back for the specials :yum:

I suspect its the 'Buena Paella' - see below

We have been a number of times and its good value, unusually for me - happy to recommend, so much so I posted positive comments on Tripadvisor.

Sounds like it, same prices as the Gran Paella Valenciana at the Krystal Centre, same family.

Not Spanish, from the 8 th. Canarian island. Which is where he is now on holiday for 3 more weeks. Jose is his name & he is a keen Real Madrid fan so will be most unhappy today. Just a guess!

We are just back from a meal at La Buena Paella - we both had the 1/2 shoulder of lamb and it was as usual, excellant.

Everything was excellant from the minute we approached to the second we left. Usual friendly staff, always happy to help and make the evening enjoyable and wanting to go back sooner rather than later.

Well worth a visit - can't recommend it highly enough.

Have been to La Buena Paella lots of time with my wife and always take the family there because the food is great and cheap. Where can you get a mixed grill for 6.95 euros and we take half of it home for a meal next day, as its just too much for us and the Sangria at 6 euros is really good and tasty not pop like some restaurantes. I admit the veg is plain but we have the salad and its lovely.

Try his brothers' restaurant La gran Paella Valenciana, a few locals away from where they used to be at the Krystal Centre near Puerto Colon, same menu.

Is Dean still the PR?

I'm sure it is him, never thought to ask ! - remember him from Puerto Colon, he is always pleasant and stops us for a chat if we are passing during the day or when we go in / come out. Nice fellow and a good asset for the business. When we are next passing I will ask.

Yes, he is a good PR, he was working at El Mago's. We said to Juan (Gran Paella) that he should employ him.

Popped in tonight and after the normal warm welcome we had the 1/2 shoulder of lamb, veg and canarian potatoes as usual, same good standard.

It made a change from my home cooking.
