A prisoner, one of Britains Most Wanted, Derek Brockwell from Glasgow , escaped from custody by stabbing two prison officers at a hospital in Tallaght Dublin today. An accomplice on a motorbike was waiting to take him away.
A prison officer is having emergency surgery atm.

He'd already escaped from Kirkham prison, where he was doing 22 life sentences for armed robberies in uk. He got 12 years I think for doing armed robberies in Dublin in 2012.

A lovely man.

I've been to that hospital and seen prisoners being taken to and from the hospital and the Irish Army were often utilised for escort purposes from Port Laois High Security Prison.

His requirement for an armed escort had been removed.

I now believe he was doing a 7 year sentence for the Dublin robberies.
He might consider a career change.....he's not good at these robberies unless he's done a load, that he wasn't caught for.;)

According to news sources he was sitting outside a pub in Belfast and struggled when attempts were made to arrest him. He was then tazered. He is now in hospital......properly guarded hopefully.:p

Yeah while his face is plastered over almost every newspaper and tv station in Ireland/ UK.

If I'm ever gonna rob a bank, remind me not to have him on my team!!

According to the latest news reports, he was hospitalised due to a knife wound in his stomach...self inflicted!!

Goes to show that with his first conviction, he should have been given some type of psychological assessments.

Running around stabbing people, after getting 20 odd life sentences, starting robberies again having absconded from UK to Ireland and then being caught having a pint outside a pub in Belfast in the open defies any logical thought.
A lot of people have done their jobs badly...me thinks.

The trouble with Psychiatric or Psychological assessments is that offenders often talk the talk but do not walk the walk as evidenced by the number of offenders who commit further offences.....Very devious especially Sex offenders and those prone to violent offending.
