I don't know about the law or if the taxi companies supply them, but I wouldn't let a child travel in any car without one.

I also wouldn't travel in any car without child seats , we use blow up booster seats called bubble bum, I think we got them off eBay , they are the closest youl get to a proper booster, my children are aged 4 & 9.
