EHIC card

Can anyone advise me on renewal of EHIC card? We are retired OAP residents and received our original cards from UK 5 years ago. These are now out of date and application to UK for renewal has gone unanswered. Anyone any idea of what to do next?

I understood the EHIC card was only for use in temporary stays abroad but someone may have more correct knowledge than me

British UK Expats need the EHIC card for when we go aboard from here, ie back to UK on holiday. I think you have to renew these in the UK now, but I'm sure someone on here, more in the know than I, will be able enlighten you.

The above website is where I got the information to send the request for renewal of the card. Perhaps I should send it again though I appreciate that we only get emergency cover in the UK.
