NOW is the time to register for summer courses with Adeje’s Summer University, which can be used for extra credits.
You can register in person in the ULL in Calle Viana 50, La Laguna, in Adeje’s Cultural Centre, from 9am to 2pm, Monday to Friday, or online, www.uvadeje.es.
The courses on offer this year, organised by the local Council and the ULL, are in 20-hour blocks. They focus on alimentation, gender issues, physical/sporting activities, medicine and hyperbaric nursing, marketing tourism products, family and school, etc. The university runs from 20-24th July.
Those on the Adeje padrón, registered students in official educational centres, unemployed people and retirees will be offered discounts.
And there will again be a public transport service, put in place to bring students from the North of the Island, with stops in La Laguna, Santa Cruz, Barranco Hondo, Candelaria, Güímar, Porís de Abona, and San Isidro.
The courses are listed here in Spanish as they will be taught in Spanish, and they could be of interest to you, your friends or family currently studying.

One of the courses offered is "Sport Without Violence"!

I wonder whether they want to change the rules of boxing, or whether they're going to take 20 hours of tuition just to say "go hiking or surfing instead".

Of maybe it's a way of getting Chess accepted as a "sport".
