We get married on the island in September. I'm looking for a musician, maybe guitarist or accordionist to play the wedding procession down to the beach and up again to the restaurant.

Anyone know of anyone who could do this. Probably someone local. Was hoping to spot the three guys in the blue velvet troubadour type suits on last visit but didn't see them.

They would be perfect.

I'm wanting a Canarian type wedding.

Anyone know of anyone. Looking at about one hour tops.

There used to be a Canarian accordionist that played in La Escala bar just on the corner down from Michaelangelos Restaurant . Now I'm clutching at massive straws here - musicians usually stay local once established.

He played all sorts (I have him on a dvd playing the Eagles)

Maybe seanocelt will remember

If not at least I've bumped this for you

I take it you're meaning the south

Maybe chifleta may know she's in a Canarian musical family

Thank you. That's great news. I'm still holding out for the troubadours, unless they are too expensive!

There are three Canarian guys who play regularly on Sundays at a restaurant called Irache Gara up in the hills near Vera de Erques which, if you don't know it, is off the TF-82, the road from Adeje to Guia de Isora. It would be worth your while having lunch there to check 'em out but you'd need a Spanish speaker to talk with them.

No. The people performing the ceremony mentioned two Spanish guitarists who want 160 euros for 1 hour. I thought that was a bit much.

What do you think?

Sounds a bit steep.....you could offer then €100 and see what happens, to be paid at the end of the gig. Nothing to loose eh!! ;)

Ecxept if they don't turn up!...Someone might offer them the correct fee beforehand.

I thought the price was ok when you consider it's not just an hour. They have to travel, dress correctly, a decent Spanish guitar is expensive. On top of that, this isn't something that just anyone can do. If you've heard them and enjoyed them then they are obviosly very professional...:tiphat:

How far is the wedding procession going, and will they be playing during the service.

Sounds about right to me ... £112 for a "specialist" duo for an hour. As Toto99 rightly says, it's not just the hour you are paying for, its traveling time etc. If you like them and they are available; book them. It could make the difference between a good day and a special day for everyone to remember.
Best wishes for the day.
