can we get a NIE number before we move out to tenerife from uk

Hi we are moving from UK to Tenerife we are looking to sort out as much as we can
Before moving can we get a NIE number before we go or can we only sort it
Once we are there any help and advise would be great

We obtained our at the Spanish Embassy in London before we moved here but a long time ago now. Just give them a phone call they will tell you if still possible

we managed to get through got application form got to fill it in and make a trip to London I never heard back by email just kept phoning
