Re. cat/house sitting/feeding etc

I am completely new to this forum, but am committed to renting a property on Tenerife for at least 12 months. Obviously, somewhere which will accept my cat.

I was wondering if I were to return for a week or so to the UK if there is a group of people or individuals who would be prepared to feed and tend to my cat (obviously for a fee of some sort).

Are there any animal welfare activities on the island? I have some interest and experience of working for Gozo's SPCA and always like to feed stray cats (and dogs if found).

Are there catteries?

There are a few catteries here, I can recommenced http://www.digs4dogstenerife.co.uk/ who cater for both dogs and cats. There are also a few people who will cat and house sit for you, a lot of them can be found on the Facebook Tenerife and Residents page
For animal welfare http://www.cats-welfare-tenerife.com/ is the biggest in the south for cats, if you contact them when you are here they will put you in touch with local people who look after colonies of strays.
