I genuinely think that Iceland have been takin' the iss recently on certain pricing and have become plain arrogant on this issue. Quite a number of products which I personally use have packaging prices showing and when presented at till are a 100% inflated price or the price doubled, whichever way you want to put it. ie. simple one. Beef Mince £3 UK price but at Tenerife till its now 6 euro! So, you arithmeticians, you calculate the cost of transport, per Iceland.

All very interesting but the simple solution is that if Iceland is too expensive don't shop there. If everyone did it they would do something about the prices.

also an item costing £3 in the UK and €6 in Tenerife. €6 at the current tourist exchange rate of around 1.35 works out about £4.44.

I hope someone from Iceland is watching !

In my opinion own brand stuff is cheap for a reason, never touch it anymore, rather pay a little more for quality.

Mmm, what about the transport, shipping and handling cost for moving it nearly 2000 miles.

I totally agree, everything comes at a cost.

The reason I mentioned the exchange rate is that €6 is not twice the actual cost of £3 as suggested by anothing poster. A few years ago maybe but not now !

I dont have a big problem with Icelands prices, rather pay less of course, but if thats the price thats the price - simple ! If the SAME product is cheaper elsewhere I would buy it.

It's not just who makes it, also to be considered is that it's made to meet Hiperdinos costs, requirements, ingredients, packaging etc etc.

pass on who makes their stuff - I think gnats make their beer !

Heinz baked beans 415g tin has approximately 465 beans (M&S own brand has approx 430), perhaps someone will tell us how many are in a Hiperdino own brand tin !
