I wonder which ones are better for a flat in Santa Cruz? It's a quiet place, so noise reduction is not particularly important.

Original wooden windows are "guillotine" type, which isn't very convenient.

And another question: are there any regulations about colour? I mean if they are originally brown, the new ones have to be brown, haven't they?

Many thanks.

When you say Guillotine type... i take it you mean the ..up and down type... what we call sash windows..
I,m sure sash style windows can still be made in what you are asking for, but more modern feature windows, now slide left and right ( or the other way) and even outwards..
Check it out with the community.
By the way welcome to the forum...:tiphat:

Thanks! Yes, sash windows. The main problem is what to choose – wood, plastic or aluminium.

I see You arrived recently so Welcome to the Forum..

I wish I lived in Tenerife but don't.

However I know Wood requires regular Painting whilst PVC and Aluminium are almost maintenance free

I do wonder about the Salt air and the effect on Aluminium especially.

I suggest You ask around and explore for Suppliers for a consultation of their Recommendations.

I suspect the PVC will be the winner.....

good luck.............
