Router Box

I have a flat, white router box from Movistar - well had it for ages so it has the Telefonica logo on it.

I was wondering if a much more up to date one would be better ?
Or would it just be updating for a more modern look and wouldn't affect performance ?

Usually down to your internet provider to update your router, but this is tenerife so can't see them swapping it, unless you complain about slow internet speeds, then they will send a engineer out and hopefully realize that its a old router...
