Has there been a clamp down on restaurant PRs in Tenerife?

Just got back from a weeks holiday in Tenerife

We always catch a bus to La Caleta and walk back to to Los Cristianos..Usually have to run a gauntlet of annoying restaurant PR's in certain places..

Virtually none in sight although in Los Cris on the top elevated restaurant street still got hassle so we avoid

Does anyone know whether the authorities have had a clamp down and threatened fines?

Could have been the time you walked past as there tends to be a lull early to late afternoon, ie between breakfast and dinner, but you should still get some grief walking 4 miles.
