Hi,
I need some advice on artificial grass has anyone laid it over an exsisting tiled terrace area and if so are you pleased with it, also I have been looking for somewhere to buy it from I have seen it on the Leroy Merlin's website and they have a great selection but wondered if there is anywhere nearer to Los Cristianos that has a good range to choose from.

My advice to you that not to laid artificial grass over an existing tiled terrace because with the passage of time it looks not good.

Our friends in Tenerife used this company and it has proved to be very successful.

I thought that artificial grass was laid on a bed of sand rather than on a solid surface?

Correct, if not it will cause movement and unsightly spaces, although I've seen it laid quite successfully on a weed supresent fibre product, but not sure how long it will take for the under layer to deteriorate in the heat of Tenerife and allow movement. :don't know:

I'm having artificial grass laid next week, the guy doing it has built a wooden frame which is held in place by stakes driven into the ground, he will then put down and compact coarse sand (sharp sand) to the level of the frame. The grass will then be fixed to the frame.

That makes sense.
