The Canarian Association of Vacation Rentals (ASCAV) is organizing an important meeting next week to keep the momentum going and move forward in addressing the unfair letting laws currently on the books.

The meeting will be moderated by the well respected Secretary Director of the University of La Laguna, Moises Simancas. This event will gather the tourist board, regional and local politicians, hoteliers, business federations and associations, unions, governing boards of affected professionals, as well as any institution related to and affected by holiday letting. An afternoon session will be held that same day for property owners and those managing properties interested in the subject as well. Individual property owners and investors who would like to hear first hand about the current situation and progress being made are welcome to attend the afternoon session from 18:00-20:00 at the CajaSiete building in Santa Cruz.

Always an important issue to be informed about as tourism is what supports our island, is now even more timely as high summer season for holiday makers is just around the corner. And, let us not forget the current tax campaign is in full swing now. Hacienda has made it clear, they are looking for undeclared rental income. Attend the meeting and find out what your rights and obligations are as a holiday rental property owner.

It might help our members if you indicated exactly where the CajaSiete Building is in Santa Cruz.

Thanks for pointing that out. It is at Avenida Manuel Hermoso Rojas 8. It is a very well marked building just across the fair building.
