IT takes a few factors to sink, or nearly sink, a vessel in a marina. And this week, a luxury yacht nearly went down in Puerto Colón.
“La Favorita” had to be re-floated by a crane in that enclave of Costa Adeje’s tourist area after getting into trouble on Tuesday.
For some unexplained reason, she started taking in lots of water in the stern. The yacht, 21 metres long and valued at more than two million euros, belongs to a Russian businessman, who owns more vessels in the South of Tenerife.
Adeje local police, national police, coastguards and fire-fighters all helped saved the yacht.
Only the part closest to the bow deck remained afloat at first, and a large crane was needed to help re-float “La Favorita”.
Nobody was seriously injured
