Hello all

I would like to make contact with and pick the brains of anybody who either lived here or has knowledge of Las Chafiras.
We will be staying there in the future. South of TF1,Calle Daniel Feo Feo, and maybe 15 mins walk to bus stop.
111 bus from Santa Cruz to Pde LA and L C every hour and 1,5 euro
We will initially use public transport and are curious to know the following
Easiest and shortest bus rout to coastal towns of Las Abrigas and Amarillo Golf?
Does Las Chafiras have many good restaurants ,bars and night time entertainment?
If we buy furniture for the apartment will the department store deliver?

Thanks in advance.

Bren

The 470 takes you to amiralla golf and the beautiful el medano .. Las chafiras has a good bar/restaurant just next to mcdees .. I forget the name.. There's Spanish bingo across from it which is so much fun :) there's not a lot of night life here but there are restaurants and bars dotted around ..plus your surrounded by Los abrigos, golf del sur and sanblas etc so there is plenty to do surrounding you and only a short distance to walk. el medano is a little further away maybe 20-30 mins by bus .. It's beautiful, full of character and always full of people .. Beautiful beach and full of wind surfers :).. All stores deliver on the same day or the following for furniture.. Very helpful, friendly and speak English.. I have just moved here too but I'm very familiar with this area since I lived in golf del sur before .. Happy to help you with any other questions

It's worth having walks around Las Chafiras itself but do be careful crossing the TF1 via the roundabouts and going down to the bus stops on the slip roads. You do get used to it. There is a boot fair twice a week (I think Saturday and Sunday mornings) behind Lidl in Las Chafiras. You can of course take the motorway buses to Santa Cruz or Los Cristianos. In Las Chafiras you have Mercadona, Hyperdino, Iceland and Lidl plus a number of local general and specialist shops such as the bakery with the wonderful name of Der Dinkelbacker! There is a newly opened cafe bar which I think has entertainment at weekends in the evenings: El Caseron, the lime green building opposite Mercadona. Deliveries from stores are brilliant even up lots of stairs; we have found them extremely reliable. The local IKEA is an order centre but items are usually delivered within a day.
The palm tree and oleander walk down to the golf is very pleasant and you can walk on to San Miguel Harbour, Amarilla Golf, Golf del Sur and San Blas. It depends on your walking speed but allow 40mins to get to the Medical Centre at the beginning of the Golf. You could play crazy golf en route. Don't forget the garden centre in Las Chafiras, the huge Chinese Emporium where you can buy almost anything and all the furniture warehouses and car showrooms. There's also a farmer's market. Lots of restaurants within walking distance and good taxi services so no worries. If you like bird-watching there is a large, deep pond of sorts on the small back road that leads to Amarilla Golf. That's a nice walk and you can have coffee etc. in the golf club cafeteria. Being nosey: are you moving to El Guincho or the Estate near the White Friars? Both are interesting places so you should be very happy there. Best wishes.

Thanks a lot Margaretta for such a detailed description. It's pretty much what I needed to know.
We bought a 2 bed apartment in a block of about six. Nearly seven weeks later and they still haven't connected the water and electric.
As soon as this is done we can pop over and begin furnishing.
