Welcome Julie ... can I suggest you urgently get your kids learning Spanish. Your 17 year old will have very little chances of work. Maybe try to get them to some Summer holiday camp that is in Spanish this year.

Have you researched about getting "Residency" - you will have to prove min. 5,000 euros per adult in savings and have arranged Private Health Insurance.
