I'm in the UK at the moment but wonder if the former site of Mercadona in Playa de la Arena is still vacant, or if there is any news about what it is going to be. Another good supermarket would be useful!

Whereabouts are you talking? I'm assuming the one in San Eugenio & also the one as you head towards los cristianos near the electrical shop are still open? I think there is also a new one in Parque Santiago 5 shopping mall???

Playa de la Arena is on the outskirts of Los Gigantes..:)

Its not really but thats bye the bye.

To be honent the new Mercadona is huge and with Lidl and HyperDino I think there is enough choice.

It is a bit of a walk to Mercadona now but they do deliver or you could get a taxi home with shopping.
