I just thought I'd post in here about the vibrant Tango community that exists in Tenerife. Just in case anyone might be interested. There's a lot going on.

Lessons:

There are regular lessons in the North and in the South of Tenerife. There are a number of different teachers offering everything from beginners to advanced lessons. Information about lessons changes continually, so the best place to go is the lessons page on the Tenerife Tango website: http://tangotenerife.com/lessons/

Milongas:

Milonga is the name given to a place where people meet up to dance Argentine Tango socially. There is usually one milonga per week, but often more. Again the best place to go is the website for up-to-date information: http://tangotenerife.com/ (http://tangotenerife.com/)

Events:

Each year there is a so-called Milongeando in in Tenerife. This is where there is a series of milongas over four days, usually in Santa Cruz. Details of the Milongeando can be found on the website of the organizer: https://milongagarufa.blogspot.com.es/p/milongueando-tenerife-2016.html

La Mirada New Year Tango Meeting. Between the 29th and the 1st of January 200 dancers will be coming to Tenerife to dance Tango over four days. This is an annual meeting and will be taking place in the Golf del Sur region of Tenerife. More information can be found here: http://lamiradatango.org/

Tango Holidays

Starting in 2017 tango holidays will also be taking place in Tenerife. Dancers can come to Tenerife to improve their dancing skills and take part in milongas every evening. The holidays will be taking place in the south in the Golf del Sur region and in the north in Puerto de la Cruz. More information about these tango holidays (http://sunshinetango.com/) can be found here: http://sunshinetango.com/

There you have it (more or less) an overview of Tango in Tenerife.

Interesting but I think that doing the Tango is quite beyond all of the geriatrics that use this forum regularly.
