What kind of income can be made from renting a 1 bedroom apartment?

Hi

we are thinking of moving to tenerife and buying two properties in the puerto de la cruz area- one to live in and one to rent out. we appreciate that renting out needs to go through an agent and be in the correct location. how much can generated as an income, especially what kind of fees can me expect to pay out - community, agent, tax?

if you are renting it out long term 3 months plus you can manage it yourself, even people who rent out to tourists advertise and manage themselves, though I am not sure about the legal side which is a very grey area. the rent you receive would depend how big the flat is and where it is. maybe you should rent yourself in your chosen area for 6 months, have a look around and get an idea what rents are viable.
you will be supprised how your priorities change after living in an area for 3-6 months
