Hi everyone,
reposting this as it didn't seem to work last night.
First of all, hello! Glad to find this group.
I'll be around Los Abrigos from Jan 18-24 2017, hoping to do a lot of mountainous rides on (principally) asphalted roads, so I'm looking for road cycling groups in South Tenerife that I could perhaps join to go on some rides. Anybody know of any good groups out there? If so, please do let me know.
Second of all, does anyone know how far you can get up Teide on a road bike, starting from Los Abrigos? The asphalt in this case seems to stop around 2000m but the off-road track from here (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Monta%C3%B1a+Blanca+Sendero/@28.2655667,-16.5962378,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x2304d7efa18347e!8m2!3d28.259 514!4d-16.603539)doesn't look too bad based on google satellite images, at least up to where the road stops on the normal google maps view (not the satellite view), as shown here (https://www.google.com/maps/dir//Unnamed+Road,+38300+La+Orotava,+Santa+Cruz+de+Tene rife,+Spain/@28.270908,-16.651862,13z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m8!4m7!1m0!1m5!1m1!1s0xc6a83ed5051f b45:0x26acd74d635899a8!2m2!1d-16.6167566!2d28.2709125).
Has anyone tried this on a road (or other) bike?
