Postal service in Tenerife ?

Hello forum.

I am new here, and new to Tenerife.
I was there for the first time in december 2016,11, days and I loved every minute of it.
But I have a question to you, I hope that you can answer me:

I spent both money and time on buyng and writing postcards and Christmas cards to friends in Iceland
and delivered it in a red postbox on the corner of Ave de Ámsterdam and Ave Juan Carlos in Los Cristianos.
Now,, well over a month, non of the cards have arrived in Iceland.
Is that normal, or is the postal service in the island nothing to depond on ?

Postal service can be hit and miss, mostly OK, once I received a postcard sent 6 year previous, another time I had an amazon order delivered in 2 days

If posting by Correos always use the Yellow post boxes
Never had any problems with them and as I do allow about 4/5 days for delivery..
.Worked fine for me.
