Hello dear members,

I tried my best with the forum search, but could not find informations about the current rules and laws on solar power for the canarys.
I already found that spain dislikes solar at the moment, but there are different laws for the canarys.

Spain against

Canary different (site is in german sorry)

Maybe someone of you knows the current laws or where to find them? I am ashamed I have to admit I don't speak spanish yet.
Does the local providers pay anything for energy feed into the power grid?
Links to local govermental sites in spanish could also be helpful, as I don't know them yet, but could use google page translator ;)

Many thanks in advance
Paul

No I don't know the law, but from speaking to people that have investigated in the past, the same law applies in the Canaries. i.e. you will be taxed on it. And No, there is no feed in tariff.

Explains why you see hardly any installations.

So this page says the law is different on the canaries, since last year:
I translated a bit with deepl.com translator
https://www.erneuerbareenergien.de/s...150/436/93471/
"Special arrangements for the Spanish islands

However, the levy on electricity produced is not applicable to plants with an output of less than ten kilowatts and to generators built on the Spanish islands. The operators of these systems only pay the one-off fee. Madrid's justification for this special scheme for the Spanish islands is that the average electricity production costs are higher than on the Spanish mainland. In the Canary Islands, the government officials in Madrid expect 210 euros per megawatt hour, while the electricity production costs on the mainland are estimated at 50 euros per megawatt hour. For this reason, it is necessary to provide separate subsidies for private consumption, which Madrid considers to be sufficient for all the electricity produced by the solar installations, since the penalty levy will no longer apply."

But I do agree it really is striking how few solar panels there are on the roofs. I noticed solar thermal power on roofs but hardly any photovoltaics. Which seems stupid as there is so much sun to harvest....

Are there maybe any official websites I could look at to get more information on this topic? Somewhere to start researching?
