OH and just for the " Record"

A good start than fell to sleep for most of the game Celtic players. The only wake up
was the goal which wrongly charged off by the linesman. Maybe he was sleeping.
Just 2 games before the scottish cup final. Enough with the experience, Lenny!
I would play the best possible 11 now.

It´s sti l in the mix Davie ,lower clubs have still to consider it and those SFL Clubs with a vote to decide - financial package for top 2 leagues but little change for the others at present - the play off suggestion will be attractive to 2nd tier, but will not be for smaller teams in SPL, big teams like Thistle and the ´Tic shouldn´t be drawn into play-offs !
Precious little detail - another popcorn week to see what unravels - but to end up with still having 3 separate governing bodies is crazy IMO!

:wall::popcorn:

But for the windae-lickers lookin´ in I´m sure they´re beelin´they haven´t been "promoted".... yet !:jumping: :window:

It's Flag ( Fleg for windaelickers) Day tomorrow with the presentation of trophy after the St Johnstone Game ( Not before as Sky says!)- the usual ridiculous 12:15 kick off to suit Sky and not the Scottish Public .
Hopefully a cup- final team rehearsal to get the Bhoys in the right frame of mind for May 26th and a decent piece of grass to play on instead of the beach like last week !
Let's see how much more speculation we get over Lenny going down south to Everton, Swansea, Cardiff, Chelsea, Norwich ....
given that the SFA are determined to drive him out by any means I woudn't be surprised if he went for his piece of mind and that of his family ... Get out of the best little bigoted country in the world!

Dundee Utd v Celtic , final league game on Celtic Tv Sunday at 12:45 - not on Sky or ESPN - maybe a final run out for Paddy before he leaves and a couple of others .
Should be a. Good game with TheArabs looking for revenge for their cup defeat!

Poor old Hearts , in deep doodoo with potential insolvency , will they fiddle their way to the end of the month?
Great quote from KDS - you could sing this Sean !

Once upon a time they were copying huns
Now theyre only falling apart
There's nothing I can do

At 23.21 last night I wrote the following which might be more relevant here now!

JJ. I,m taking this new informant at face value as I,m told there are concerns as to who this person actually is and the info. being supplied. I,ll take a wait and see attitude meantime.
On an aside, yes JJ. Of course some things remain "Timeless" and give pleasure time after time!

Good performance and attitude today from team with a four goal win over the Arabs - Pirlo McCourt playing well in what could have been his last game .
Now to buckle down for Cup Final next Sunday at 15:00 and repeat the performance - nice to see Broony getting a full run out and a good performance !
just have to wait and see if SFA try and ban Niell on Thursday now!
Also wait and see the outcome of reconstruction talks this week and Charlotte's exposees - somebody give AJ a shove he's snoring again- he'll miss all the fun!

Well Cup Final Day at last and it might even be a sunny one - judging by the way we have picked up our performances , I think we will win ! (No surprise there !)
No Victor , Kayal due to bans , Willie (eyes in the back of my head) Collum and 2 extra officials shouldn´t prove too big a hurdle to overcome the mighty Hibees today , especially with Neil Lennon suited up on the touchline as if he was up in court again for a misdemeanour !
I realise the windaelickers (Sevconians and Jambos) will be struggling to pick sides today and will probably be boning up on fiduciary matters for their upcoming court cases ,meanwhile Craigy Bhoy will be slumming it at the Grand Prix before the pre-match canapes and champagne !
Celtic to win 4-1 ( might as well stick my neck out for once!) - the only disappointment is playing in Black as I had a new 125 year strip bought for me for the final !

HailHail

Just about sober ! Good performance all round and emphatic victory in the end - Frazer´s save early doors was significant , Stokesy and Brown gave superb performances in a hard fought game .
Thankfully I have recorded it and may review my comments but from what I remember , to re-iterate Timmy´s comments a fully enjoyable spectacle -Armageddon is so much better these days ! Hail Hail!

Beautiful directly taken goal by Hooper (first). The game took a good way for

So now the new SPFL is about to be formed with playoffs and TV deals - BT are going to take over ESPN's coverage of minor league games too .
The rules have now been changed to allow "Trialists" to play in competitive games , there will be Sevco games on a Friday Night to "accomodate " BT , I don't fancy being a plumber, hairdresser , sparkie, brickie having to work all day Friday then have to put in a shift playing at night as well - when I used to play Staurdays or Sundays- how many more advantages / rule changes will be introduced? Will they now change the 5 year Associate Membership rule too ?

AJ ,The only "Big" team showing interest appears to be Arsenile at the moment - cough up or kop out !
If we get £12m we should bite of whichever hand offers it , but Victor wants a bigger club - no guarantee any will beid - they may want to see him play in EPL first!
We have until 16th of July for our first game to make a sale to a European CL club.

Very small ground Caribe - will they change the venue for say Aviva and get some cash in?

Doubt it would be the Aviva mate as there could be complications regarding C/Ville playing in the Northern league, the IFA would kick up a stink over it.
Casement park,Antrim GAA,s home ground in west Belfast, would be a great venue but there could be complications there too as a lot off the ground is standing and FIFA regulations might stop that happening.
I cant see Windsor park being the venue either,as Tims from all over Ireland will be heading to this and to have them around that area in the middle of the marching season would be asking for severe trouble.

junglejim
24-06-2013, 18:47
Surprised at that Caribe as it's surely income , they have Celtic there on August 10th ?
The Uefa regs on standing apparently require 1500 seats minimum(probably for officials etc) I think but the GAA may be happy!
We'll have to wait and see ! 1st tie at Celtic Park better seal it , can't go through much more nerve biters !

CaribeCelt
24-06-2013, 18:56
I know what you're saying mate regarding income but the FAI might not be allowed to host them as C/Ville are a "Foreign"team.
I may be proved wrong but I think there would be lots of red tape which will make it impossible for C/Ville to play at the Aviva.
A GAA ground will be the best bet me thinks,as I think Casement park has about two to three thousand seats.
As you said mate, wait and see.

JJ the Aviva is a possibility and Ravenhill rugby ground could be an alternative also.
It seems Antrim GAA bosses will not sanction the game going ahead at Casement pk,not surprising as Antrim,Down and Armagh were the only county boards to vote against the dropping of rule 21.

Morning AJ, is it Sunday again already ?
Another rusty performance yesterday against Cluj , so still a fair bit of work to be done defensively . Balde ain't gonna be an immediate star by the looks of it so we will have to be patient!
Think we might have a problem on Tuesday recognising the teams as Gruether Furth also play in Green and white Hoopd witha clover leaf !
http://www.greuther-fuerth.de/fanartikel/kleeblatt-fanartikel.html

Wanyama & Hooper saga carries on with Victor a cert to go - don't think Hooper fancies the relegation battle with Norwich or Championship with QPR - this could go on for a few weeks !
Waiting to see what the new Supremo of SPFL Donkeyass comes up with in the way of sponsors for our new set-up , if it's Tampax as we're going through a bad period in Scottish Football and it will match up with the Irn Bru adverts !

Third pre season game third loss for Celtic. Even if You can´t compare Greuther Fürth and Cliftonville,
the team has to show a better performance like today to get a good result in Belfast next week.

junglejim
10-07-2013, 07:58
Very disappointing 2nd half defensively , with Furth clinically punishing our mistakes - several players will be out injured for next week's Cliftonville game .
Seems weird that we start a season with several important players sidelined , usual pre-season panic starting to settle in !

Looks like Victor is off to Southhampton to-morrow (or so I,ve been told!), doing his medical in the morning and signing in the afternoon/evening to be paraded Friday! 12.5 from a rather ordinary English Club cannot be too bad.
On the possible Hooper move most people forget that his previous club have a transfer on fee built into his move to Celtic. Now I,ve been told, rightly or wrongly, that this is about 30% so now you,ll start to understand why Celtic are not too bothered whether he goes or stays! Say 6mil. less the 2.5 to get him leaving 3.5 of which 30% (1.5 mil.) is passed on leaving 2 mil. less the wages he,s picked up. So just keep him, let his advisers think they are smart by not letting him accept new contract and therefor increased wages not being paid out by Celtic! Crazy really.

junglejim
11-07-2013, 18:26
Victor now reported on STV and elsewhere as a done deal at £12.5m - hopefully we have a reasonable sell on clause as well !
I would be surprised if Hooper's sell on was as high as 30% as that would be an incredible deal !
Will be hopeful that we re-invest some of the money on a decent defender , instead of bringing in "projects" , unfortunately our wage structure limits us to who we can bring in .
Our present options to replace Vic are Ambrose, Kayal and maybe one of the new bhoys - not over-encouraging on present pre-season .
Our ambition is to progress in CL as the domestic situation should not be a major issue .

JJ. I can but present the info. I get on these things. Yes 30% does seem high but its not totally unheard of. Anyway, as you say we really need experience and although we are awash with dingy its not the pp but the wages attached to such signings! Or, we could go the other way! Get an experienced player from the continent on a freebie end of contract basis so paying out the money that way would not be a bad route to go down.

I would say a Cliftonville supporter equals a Celtic supporter....in most cases;)......regarding the game?.....I fancy a nil all draw.

We need the pre season games as we have 3 early qualifying rounds for Champions League Isle .
Match fitness and giving new signings and breakthrough players a chance to play together - we now know where our main issues are so hopefully can do something to resolve them.
Losing Wanyama, Hooper, and possibly Watt this week isn't great without having adequate back-up, though I expect us to beat Cliftonville over the two matches .

Should be a great experience for the Cliftonville team and supporters , Neil's PR interview yesterday showed how seriously he is taking this tie despite the lengthy injury list -shocking that Big Dijk has only played 2 x 45 mins and is injured!
Watt back in squad as a necessity , hope he starts and proves his worth ! Jackson Irvine may have to slot in with Wilson at back as cover - not good for the nerves !
Roll on the kick off , then the draw on Friday!

Yes , the rumour on song is another sick attempt at tarring us .
As far as the bus goes , Ally alluding to Celtic being involved , with the help of MSM and Sun in particular
http://videocelts.com/2013/07/blogs/fans/the-suns-about-turn-on-rangers-bus-pictures
You would be surprised how many Bus fires there have been in areas where the Easdales operate their bus company McGill's !

Also a look at Bruces accounts and finances doesn't look very clever !
From KDS
"Bruce Coaches Ltd. is an Active business incorporated in Scotland on 20th December 2004. Their business activity is recorded as Other Urban, Suburban Or Metropolitan Passenger Land Transport (not Underground, Metro Or Similar). Bruce Coaches Ltd. is run by 1 current members. and 1 company secretary. 3 shareholders own the total shares within the company. It is not part of a group.

The latest Annual Accounts submitted to Companies House for the year up to 30/04/2013 reported 'cash at bank' of £24,566, 'liabilities' worth £814,161, 'net worth' of £1,061,098 and 'assets' worth £454,706. Bruce Coaches Ltd.'s risk score was amended on 25/06/2013."

Anyways , to get this thread back on topic and away from some obscure game with a stick and a ball that doesn't even have a putting surface , The Cliftonville Massacre is being tee'd up for tomorrow as a formality !
I hope we take it as seriously as the 1st tie and put out a strong team to finish it off early , the bring on a couple of new faces - no TV scheduled so far , so might pop up to Glasgow on my free bus pass !
The Hooper saga is dragging on and Neil hinted he might be in pool for tomorrow - maybe 'Arry will dig a bit deeper to secure his services , although Hooper looks like he's hoping for a Premiership team to come knocking .
MSM are now trying to sell Wilson as well for us having had a decent season under his belt - we need a strong , settled central defensive set-up , not a revolving door policy with changes every few games !
Borrusia M. on Saturday will be a good test for us before Elfsborg and should get us up to speed for hopefully the final qualifier !

The Rudnevs story has been on the go for over a week now ,useful if we get him , but I don't think he'll come .
SkySports News now reporting a £5m bid has been accepted for Hooper , so it's now up to player to make the next move - would rather he played next week!

I still say he has made a mistake and has listened to very bad advice re his England prospects. I strongly believe his prospects are nil. Team he,s playing for, first and foremost and will he get the service he had at CP? The lack of competition for his signature makes me believe that EPL managers did not rate him, sufficiently. Anyway, the end of another short term relationship and I think we came out of it rather well. How many ordinary players, with only months left on their contract realise over 5 mil. Not too many I think!
Now we have loads of money what are we gonna do with it. My feeling is, not a lot as we shall see.

junglejim
28-07-2013, 04:07
Timmy, Hooper and Victor have gone for their own reasons and good luck to them , we have to focus on our own team now and what needs sorted.
Financially we have had a good year and with the board we have the fiscal prudence will continue along the model we have been pursuing for the last few years .
I agree Timmy, we won't be splashing out on big signings and reading some of the messageboards this is reluctantly being recognised but we are putting our involvement in CL group stages at risk having lost 2 of our best assets without adequate replacement .
Striker wise we are struggling and on evidence so far Balde has some way to go , defensively we are still shakey as recent results proved .
We should be able to beat Elfsborg but the step up to final qualifying round will test us so hopefully Neil and his team will have sorted us out for that .
Financially there are the resources and no excuse but a paucity of decent priced players or breakthrough from development squads that are ready for full step-up so we live on a knife edge for another 2 weeks !
Yesterday's performance against Gladbach didn't tell us much with the team we used but should have got a couple of players some match fitness for Wednesday - we will see !

As I mentioned the other day I,m seeing we have accepted a bid for Wilson at about 2.7 mil.

Haven't seen anything Timmy - decent money for him but we would struggle to find one at that price to replace him.
After last night's heart-attack back heel across the box in first half , we would take the money but he performed well throughout game .
The defense was a little rusty to start but settled and coped well with the mighty Bangura - Banger's attempt to get Wilson sent off was the final nail in his Celtic career coffin IMO - I was sitting directly opposite the incident and it was as bad as Girrafferty's simulation against Mulgrew at Aberdeen .
We look fairly comfortable most of last night with Foster only making a couple of saves , our lack of converting chances make the 2nd leg more akward than it should be .
Sammy did well for us with the Borgs resorting to some seriously bad tackles to pull players down , Forrest was almost invisible most of game .
One away goal should seal the tie for us but if we get through we need to step up our conversion rate - a lot of people unhappy with Stokes failing to score!

seanocelt
01-08-2013, 14:58
pretty much sums up my thoughts JJ, Bangura p£$%ed on his chips, said at the moment Stokesy ,missed that very early chance it could be costly. Look capable of scoring away, defence a work in progress , and Forrest still an enigma. Wish we had a few more games before 2nd leg to see if new guys find their feet.

Isle
01-08-2013, 16:34
Celtic deserved the victory. Sammy where huge yesterday. The Elfsborg players could only stop him
with lots of fouls.

timmylish
01-08-2013, 23:48
In general I agree with the above. I am very concerned at this super youngster Forrest. I just don,t get him at all. I don,t think that he,s ready or capable of playing at European level when the chips are down. Yes he seamed ok last year in some games but these tended to be games where we were well in command or you just sensed we were ok.
Whilst I know that I am seeing things thru' my green glasses on top of my green eyes I was very troubled by the ref,s attitude towards the physical attacks on our big Greek but the rotation of players taking turn in attempts to upset Sammy and thereby not having one sent off surely called for at least for him to stop play and speak (?) to their captain.
I know that Lenny will say that he was satisfied with Kayal but I,m not. He,s a different player to the guy who came to CP 3 years ago. Seems to think that he,s better than he really is! When Joe (Ledley) came on for him I thought our game improved somewhat. He needs to start the return game to help Broonie assist the central defenders (whoever they may be) at KO. I know that a lot of Bhoys like Stokes for various reasons but, again, in big games he just does not convert the chances laid out in front of him which he should. Last night was a perfect example. The tie could have been dead and buried if 2 out of 6 opportunities had been converted. I miss out Ambrose,s pitiful attempt on the basis that this is not his primary duties.
Sorry for the length of this posting but I had to get a few things off my chest! My final thought is to the progress we,ll make before next week, the position which Elfsborg are in being behind by some way in their own league and to the hope that at least one of our signings does what he was bought for right away!
Am I asking too much?

I did forget to make one mention of another fine result for St. Johnstone winning 1 - 0 away in Minsk, a part of the world not too popular with tourists and the like. In fact, according to the Beeb no supporter from the UK managed to get round the usual Visa difficulties associated with Ukraine or Russia but apparently one sturdy supporter, living locally (to Minsk!?) attended waving his team,s colours!

As I continued to report it does seem the info. I received re Wilson being unhappy and wanting away back to Forrest is now coming to the fore! I take no pleasure although for said stupid money we,ve done well again. At this rate the loss incurred if we did not qualify for Europe is being met with all of our sales out! Who said we are not a selling club?
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/419684/EXCLUSIVE-Paradise-is-lost-on-Kevin-Wilson

Forest have already failed with a £1.5million bid to re-sign their former defender, but are prepared to up the ante to nearer £2.5m to get their man.

Hoops boss Lennon has gone public in saying that Wilson is not for sale and that he needs him for the Champions League, including Wednesday’s return clash with Elfsborg. Club sources, however, have told Express Sport that Lennon now has a fight on his hands as his star defender has made it clear he wants to go.

The centre-half, who is in the final year of his contract although the club has an option to extend that for 12 months, has struggled to adapt to life in Scotland and has told Lennon that he wants to return to the Midlands to be closer to his family.

Ironically Wilson, 27, who missed the weekend win over Ross County with shin splints, was frozen out at the City Ground during his final few months at Forest because he had agreed a pre-contract with the Hoops.

Yep ,seems like the Club are determined to bring them under control after several warnings and some acrimonious meetings - won't go down well with a lot of fans and will definitely affect the atmosphere inside the ground .
Not sure how much pressure is coming from Glasgow Council on Health and Safety but disappointed that it has come to this - maybe a final effort and warning from club to bring in some changes as no home game for a few weeks ?

I hear the Easdales do a decent job !

Well Canaryboy , Hooper off the mark with a Brace against Braga - you'll be well pleased !
Davy Thistle , where are you ?- season started with a great game , if no goals - have you calmed down yet ?

I know its just a friendly but he just pops up everywhere, im trying to stay calm, see how the new boys get on at Carrow road tomorrrow

I think hes got to get at least 20 goals to make it on the flight for Brazil, I presume thats the reason for coming home

He definitely wants an England Cap and who wouldn't want to go to a World Cup ? if given the service , he will put goals away for fun , just a matter of adjusting to the EPL .
Sorry to see him go and he goes with best wishes of Celtic support , I hope he does well !
It will be interesting to see how he and van Wolfswinkel get on !

Lot of problems at CP just now with the GB and now to-day, Joe seeming to complain that there has been no attention paid to his contract and renewal thereof. Due up at end of this season although an option does exist. I also understand that Sammy is not amused by the lack of negotiations on his contract. So that makes 5, yes Five, first team pool players concerned about their future, our 2 best players sold and a whole raft of fringe players moved on. I just hope that Lawwell has things in hand whilst having to deal with all the other work concerning our Club.

Yes a lot of media talk in papers , when I hear it from a players mouth , I'll worry - not many direct quotes attributed to these stories !
The media are trying to balance out the bad news due to the Omnishambles that is Sevco on self-destruct - it's a pity Peter Capaldi has been appointed as new Dr Who , he would have made an excellent replacement for Mr Dignity , Walter - spot the similarities !
Warning - strong language !

WOW! that was a job made difficult by ourselves on what looked like a difficult pitch for us to adjust to , though it didn't bother the Elfsborg players .
Again the Banger played better against us than he ever did for us !
We got lucky tonight with that performance with possibly only Lustig and Izzy playing well !
Move on and prepare for draw on Friday - Phew!!

The second half wasn´t good by Celtic. No chance create, No coming out of
defence. Have to wait till the final second, till its through.
Pleased with the result, but not with the performance. Hail Hail!

Shocking performance to be honest...we will have to pull our socks up in the next round.

Regarding Green Brigade....it looks like there will be a "club sanctioned area"....supposedly "club friendly ultras" will be doing their own displays this season...the culmination of months of harassment...."Let the people sing??"...aye right.
Shame on the PLC!

I just hate these type of games which we seem to get landed with year in and out. To-night was like watching the black & white tv,s of yesteryear when we always seemed to get drawn against teams from Communist countries like Yugoslavia etc!
If this was a board decision not to spend decent money during this window until we were either in or out of the next stage in Europe its just as well they persuaded Lenny to sign on the dotted line, at least until next August when, I think that he will seek pastures new. Really, really disappointed. As I reported last week (and before that) more were to leave CP, Wilson seeming to be a banker now. Although they are all putting out that this is due to him having access to his Daughter well when I was told he was likely to be for the off I was advised that it was plain and simple. He hates Glasgow. Full stop and, when he was asked why he hadn,t done his homework last year he couldn,t come up with a decent answer, hence the Daughter thing! In this day and age how can a grown man become homesick less than 300 miles away? Moscow, yes. Kazakstan, yes but Nottingham to Glasgow. 30 years ago I did that drive twice in the week we were playing them in the Big up and I got over it so with the advent of flights, better cars and roads, Homesick? Gaes a break.

Well, after Wilson getting his desired return, I have to say I,m really disappointed that I,ve not seen one word of thanks to Celtic or their supporters. All I,ve seen is his desire to play, once again, at their dump in front of their support. Jesus he gives the impression that playing against the likes of Barca could not compare with his return to Nottyland. Well, at least we are 2.7 mil up in the deal!

Kick off is 17:00 UK time Isle ,with a much depleted team due to injuries - Van Dijk , Samaras , Boerigter out at least .
It´s a good excuse to go to Dublin for a bevvy as we say !
Wilson was decent for us but we will have to spend some money for a good central defender - losing Wanyama and Hooper will affect us more - we need to get a move on with replacements .
Perhaps the expectation of beating Karagandy and entry to CL group stages will attract some players !

Today's game against Aberdeen will be with a much changed team due to the long trip to Karagandy , no expectations of winning .
Our efforts to bring in new players haven't been great with our targets dropping from Nedveds to Finnbogason to Pukki -at this rate we'll probably restart Bangura!
Important we get a result on Tuesday so the league game can be sacrificed IMO .

Yes Isle, we have made several bids for established lower priced strikers but unfortunately our standard of football and wage structure doesn't attract them any more .
There isn't a sufficiently high standard of striker available in Scotland that interests us and very few outsiders want to take the opportunity of using us as a stepping-stone to the English Premiere League .
Even our own youth system has struggled to come up with decent centre forwards ! We have to take chances on less proven players and hope they improve -unlike Bangura ,Lassad, Miku, Rasmussen .....and a few other diddies !

Just listened to Lennon interview, hard to argue with player loss, his decision to put 2 new guys at back to counter threat of big men, and Efe knackered after trips to S Africa then Aberdeen then this. Understood; BUT- what did (does) Forest bring to our game?, waste of a jersey tonight, and also, Sammy lone striker never works he is better in these games wide stretching opposition. We may have enough to do them at home but really, it was poor stuff after a bright start. Izzy is an attacking player i like but keeps getting caught time and time again out of position, needs sorting. Forster also looks like he is scared to come off his line, my 12 stones ( of pure Dalkeith muscle!!) can punch a ball better, as for his kick outs my neice is better!
