With 24 hours passed the Celtic game still wheren´t good.
Next week will be a other game. Celtic at home can score
3 goals more in a game than Karagandy with a other tactic.
Hail Hail!

Celtic v I C T tomorrow , 15:00 KO will be an opportunity to bed in our team for Wednesday´s task against Karagandy , important we get that right !
Not sure if Boerrigter is fit yet or Forrest has woken up to his abysmal performances this year - we need wingers to stretch the team and possibly game time for Balde to get into some form .
Nice to see the Green Brigade will be back in their usual slot after discussions with the Board - I wonder if the MSM will give this a full page splash just like they did for their threatened removal ?-Nah didn´t think so!
Also good to see our provincial lookers-in contributing to thread Davie and AJ( The new Formantine supporter ),nice football being played at Firhill Davy ,keep it up !

Depends on who they have on the panel.
Giles I cannot stand!....he's always having a go....might be something to do with the lions humping Leeds in 70.
Kenny Cunningham sometimes is on the panel and he would be a Celtic man.
The man who actually commentates the match,George Hamilton, has a wee soft spot for the hoops as well.
Sometimes the beast Souness makes an appearance.

He took a right sore knock too Barry just before, was lookin to be subbed, (prob be out for ages now !) but popped up when Stokes, who did a right Maradonna-esque run at them , looked for a poacher. The option to run right at them stared us in the face all night too, but anyway, Neil, against all odds, did it yet again. None more pleased than me. HH.

Wow ! Another nail-biting , heart attack performance from the Celtic Team ! i was screaming abuse at Forrest and his performance most of the night and then he pops up after Stokes´s brilliant dribble to plant it in the net - amazing !
According to Patullo in the Scotsman, his initial headline was that we had "Sneaked" into CL and Forrest had " bundled " the ball over the line - severe hurt from the press again , Keevins,Jackson all giving negative stories ,really hurting !

Did i also hear Samaras' equaliser , on the allegation he stopped a bye kick bound shot described as " afortunado". Sounded Greek but. Paranoid? Me? Naw.
What's with the Billy McNeil being " unfit to open a ball" stuff, give the guy a break?

Also, mid rant, i recall NL saying the ITV 4 playback was " anti Celtic" in the 1st leg. . I texted my wife to say i had to turn the sound off 2nd half away leg; she told me she wanted to too, but wasnt allowed. THEN i noted tonight (after NL reminding people of the infamous comment on ITV of us being out last season before a ball was kicked ), an " expert " on the BBC sight saying " Celtic are dead, will not win a point". What NL said about internet experts is spot on and will just get worse. Who would be a Celtic manager nowadays?

Wanted Celtic in the Dortmund group so much, for party reason, but sadly it didn´t happen.

I just cannot understand the expression of surprise in some parts of the Scottish media at the level of support for this event. I have never known the Celtic support not to put their hands in their pockets whenever asked to do so, no matter the name of the party involved. Seems to have been a great day for all involved. Well it´s Champions´League again tonight with AC Milan in the San Siro , so we will have to be on our best form - especially at the back !
Couple of injuries will hamper us with Forrest and possibly Ledley out .
Neil has to choose his forwards from the in-form Stokes ,Sammy and Pukki , my guess is it will be Sammy and Pukki and Boerrigter on the right.Defensively I hope Virgil and Efe keep up their partnership with Lustig Matthews and Broony .
Last night´s results show how some teams have been outclassed by the big guns -I hope we don´t end up the same !

No goals only in count in respect of points and magnitude of win in case of equal points at end of this group stage it is head to head result .
Extra prize money for a win or draw ,nothing for loss -only gate money at home and share of TV pot - should guarantee 15 million .
Just don´t want heavy defeats !

Sorry Jim, I get confused sometimes but an away goal is always good psychologically, especially against Italian teams who generally are good defensively.

I think that yet again pace was the no.1 ingredient for success last night. I think for the first time in years we might just have a bit of pace thru' the whole team (well except for Lurch!) and speaking of him I hope he does not instill nervousness around the penalty area. Oh and shoot on sight, as wee Ginger was adamant last night. We,ve got at least 5 players who can strike the ball from 25/30 yards, with real pace (again) and on target!
So what,ll it be? So long as we don,t give away a penalty/free kicks around the penalty area and the likes of Pukki/Georgio can hold the ball up we might just have a chance to come away with at least one point. Whatever! What was the song? Que sera, sera. Hail.Hail.

As a very astute writer has said after this game "This is a very good Celtic team" so don,t let anyone suggest otherwise. This time we were done by the lack of reall spending in the window. A quality forward player bought early in the break, given ample time to settle in and we would have won that game to-night. But, we didn,t and we didn,t also!

Celtic v St Johnstone today on Celtic.tv - Forrest stillout with other issues and getting quite concerned over his health .
An opportunity to bring out Biton ,Pukki and Boerrigter at start and perhaps a couple of others on the fringe .
Still getting over Wednesday´s "mugging" after a decent performance but we will have to make and take more chances at this level to progress !
Elsewhere Canaryboy will be looking forward to Hooper making his return to team after long injury to help pull his team out of the bottom 6 "group of death "
Forfar prepare their Bridies and plastic pitch for their match against the world´s most successful team in a part-time league - The Easdales continue their scooping up of shares and control of the Company/Club prior to their first (and only?) AGM , but only if they get their audited accounts in on time (Epic fail last week!)

Literally a game of 2 halves ! Excellent pacey football first half with 2-0 lead not reflecting superiority then slid into almost Torpor in 2nd half and hanging on at end - referee was a bit of a pumkin a few times ,pulling us up for not taking free kicks at correct position but allowing Saints to do just that several times !
We now have the Easdales "Other Team " Morton in the League Cup on Tuesday on Celtic TV so expect a few fringe players to appear from start .

Tony Watt , loaned out to Lierse in Belgian League called lazy and unfit by manager scores on his debut after 90 seconds ! Hopefully he will learn and improve his attitude!

No real excuses last night - Morton came and parked the Easdale Bus literally -hardly a shot on target for them and a risible penalty award !
Fair play to them for winning , we miserably failed to convert our dominance , 25 corners and umpteen good chances,so we deserved our medicine - the players know who is to blame and I think from Neil Lennon´s comments some of them won´t be in the first team again for a long time .
I´d rather he put out some of the young ones in this competition , at least we´d have an excuse - last night there wasn´t one !
Barcelona next week!- think I´ll be behind the couch for that one !

Fair play to them....they had a plan to steal a goal and park the bus and it worked.
We have done it against the big boys in the CL so I don't begrudge Morton their night.
Well Done.

We weren't prepared to pay the money for Finnbogason pre- season , so unlikely we will go back in January for him - Pulkki was the cheap option , he lacked vital support last night until stokes came on .

I think they should have bought Finnbogason JJ and I like Hooper a lot, he will do well in the EPL.

That diddy cup haunts us, couldnt do much more, not our night. So, Scottish football IS healthy, we DO have competition and someone will have a cup final to look forwaard to. All is well. A rangers/Sevco/whitever woman was saying that last nigt "cannny even sell seats for a cup tie"- had to remind her pre crisis at Ibrokes, they couldnt fill their place on Euro nights.

For sure I would hope that the England selectors would concentrate their deliberations on making our goalie first choice for their next 'National in view of the continued howlers Joe Hart is making. By going to Barca he is unlikely to be their no.1 so his chances of getting England first choice would drop.
Anyway, he,s going nowhere whilst Lennon is our manager giving a time line of December, 2014 at the earliest.

Hibs v Celtic at Easter Road today , looks like an interesting tie with Hibs form improving and Celtic with a problem at right back to fill .
Need to pick a team that can play against Ajax next week, with Brown suspended and Matthews and Lustig injured , we have a gaping void on RHS to fill ! Forrest and McGeoch look likely with Ambrose at RB which will drag Mulgrew into central position with Big Van Dijk , don't know if Ledley and Kayal are fit yet and Sick Note Boerigter still not fully fit .
We have Rogic, Biton still to prove their worth on the sidelines so lots of puzzles for Neil Lennon to solve !

Hi Davie - a good result for you, especially away from home, and not before time !
I'm sure we'll suffer from our post-European downturn and that;ll give you all the favours you need but I would be wary after the Hibbies result at the weekend and the backlash on Neil from tits like Vine !
Tomorrow;s game against Ajax is more pressing at the moment with a reduced team we'll see - I might miss it as my daughter's delivery date has been brought forward to tomorrow , so I asked her to be quick , her reply was unprintable (it will be a section ) but I will have a lovely new grandaughter at the end of the day , so I can't lose!

from what I read Celtic didn´t made a good game. Just two shots over 90 minutes
is too less to take a point from Amsterdam. Apart from van Dijk and Forster
the other players didn´t perform at their best level. The direct competition with

Hi AJ! Paid the price in Europe for not investing in a decent class of striker-enough chances were madein allof our games ,just no one capable of putting them away , we seem to be happy as a Board to reap the benefits of Group money but not to invest on the chance that we make it beyond Group stage .
Lenny is going nowhere soon , where would he go and get CL involvement ?
The press are pushing the " Terrorist" angle of the banner when they do not want to write about the underlying real issue of the new Act on Offensive behaviour passed by the SNP - it´s Ok to sing about ex freedom fighters like Wallace,Mandela and use it for political slogans but not if you are of Irish or Catholic descent - even the Queen laid a wreath in Dublin to the BOTOB!!
It´s Ok to put Political adverts for SNP & Labour on at football grounds but not make other political statements? -crass hypocricy from SFA and Lawwell !
Why do we have politicians presenting trophies ?

Hearts in the cup with a team that will have a couple of changes from midweek CL team - Brown willbe back with probably Ledley in middle and Stokes upfront - Forrest might be on bench with Pukki and Balde .

Totally outclassed on the night Isle , lack of commitment was the biggest disappointment for me (and most of support!) ,Barcelona were excellent but we gave up !
We have to focus on domestic performance and see what transpires in January transfer window .

A good article in The Herald today from a "GB" member - a lot of dissent over some incidents at game yesterday ,with Stewards being over the top.
It will settle down eventually , the main issue will be how the team progresses from now on .
As for the Govan Comedy Show , I hope Mr Custard shows up at the AGM to cast his votes and cheer them up , they are slowly disintegrating amongst all the in-fighting - a wonderful early Christmas present!!

On a rare moment of clarity of mind I wondered what the consensus of opinion is with Tims viz a viz the voting next year. Although I would have imagined that a Yes vote would have been the vote of normal, left wing Labour supporters. However, as has been clearly witnessed this year Celtic supporters have had a difficult time with "the Establishment as represented by the Polis" and I cannot but see that worsening under an "Independent Scotland", jobs a Bankers not being available to Tims, and the like. Am I wrong as having lived ex UK for near to 25 years I don,t have feedback to enlighten me. On the NO vote winning at least the Polis in Scotland would, to some degree be Policed by Whitehall where we do and can have a foot in the doorway, if you follow my train of thought. I thought I posted yesterday but seems to have not registered , so I'll try again!
Looking at some of the Celtic boards there is a fair mixture of pro and con with SNP supporters pushing the Agenda , the Offensive Communication act and it's application by House's Stormtroopers on Celtic Supporters has helped to polarise the NO vote as an example of what House and Christine Graham ( anti catholic by her own words) are capable of in President Salmond's "Utopia" .
The Herald continuing poll suggests a fairly comfortable NO vote .

http://www.heraldscotland.com/politics

The Dark Side will mainly vote for the Union and the Fleg so looks like a no-brainer .
Personally I have yet to be convinced of any long-term benefit from a Yes vote from the evidence that is being published , we will wait and see !

JJ Thank you so much for your response which offers me some clarity. If it were up to me I would push for a resounding NO! Never trusted the SNP even as far back as the CND cranks and seeing a fat figure of a leader who reminds me of Hunnish things! Sorry but there you are.

From a teuchtars point of view does it matter if we are governed from London or Edinburgh not really, because neither have any interest in Tuechtar land ( apart from Aberdeen that they do need ) but personally I will vote NO because I do not see how the SNP figures add up and the thought of the Glasgow / West coast based communist / socialist comrades grabbing control at the 1st election really scares me. I will gladly give my kids money to leave Scotland and have a fresh start elsewhere if the worst happens and there is a yes vote.

junglejim
29-12-2013, 10:41
Hi AJ , relax yer money is safe ! I don't think communism/socialism was restricted to the West Coast Weegies when you consider, for example ,the amount of miners in the Fife Area , Dundee for me was always a strong area too . I have never been a member of any political party, though have friends and family in all the main facets of political spectrum .
The main debate will start after the New Year with all sorts of claims and promises (being politicians that's what they do ) but no absolutes !
There is a Shetlander who owns the Cobra Bar in San Eugenio ,she makes it quite plain that as far as Shetland goes , it's their Oil ,and they retain a significant amount of the Revenue for the local good - tf only the rest of Scotland could have done the same there might have been a chance !

JJ> The video has to be close to the very worst covering a lower div. club and their supporters which I have seen this year. Based on the rather idiotic ramblings to take their advice and go to Wales although he appears to support England,I frankly had some difficulty understanding the views being expressed.
What worries me slightly is that you all see the NO vote as a certainty. Hate that even although I would think a NO vote is the most sensible. Can I ask a further question please. The vote taken is a NO. How long is that for, are there further elections every 5 or 10 years etc. so that the population can change their minds or is that it, for ever and everything stays as it is?

junglejim
30-12-2013, 09:14
I don't see the NO vote as a certainty Timmy , it's just the polls say that and looking at the press at the moment the YES vote isn't putting forward very good arguments or facts .
Don't think you or I or AJ will ever see another referendum if it's a NO vote Timmy , with a bit of luck we won't see Sevco winning the top league either ! LOL
Very dull performance yesterday after a great start , poor forward play failing to take chances !
Big Davy Thistle must be quaking in his boots for the Ne'erday local derby after their thumping yesterday , we'll hopefully up our game to keep our noisy neighbours in place!

Well, I would like to close this year (for myself) in thanking you for all of your clear unambiguous answers to my many questions.
Finally, I have to restrict my final comments to my many co-Tims everywhere. Thank you for continuing supporting the Celts in everything they have done and achieved this last year. We are truly privileged in being off the Celtic Family not only in footballing terms but the very many, unmentioned acts of charity, mainly ones created to help children all over the World, building schools in Africa, running a children,s home in Thailand, known the world over just because of a Celtic supporter, starting with no money but ending up with donations from nearly every single supporter going thru' the turnstiles on 2 Saturdays a couple of years ago and ending up with a music recording known to the ears of most people in Europe and further. Somewhat reminiscent of our beginnings as a charitable institution which will continue for as long as there are ordinary Celtic Supporters.
To all of you responsible I wish you a truly Happy New Year. HAIL.HAIL.

I'm hoping to start my drinking today watching our Big Local Derby in Local CSC Club as the weather is forecast to be rather wet and windy (Surprise!!) , and no Public Transport so would be a nightmare getting to game.
Nice comments Timmy about the Social Side of Club (The Supporters) , just a pity last week The Club Corporate couldn't bring themselves to help and support the Food Bank Initiative that was run outside by the GB last week (Organised weeks before the issues ), they were quick enough to jump on the Barca Display for their own commercial purposes and Lawwell's coffers !
Don't know about damage limitation Davy , the way we're playing you might have to go easy on US!!
Not sure about your YES vote Davie , comparing our Services to Englandshire we seem to have a better deal , our crap feels better than theirs IMO !
Anyways , enjoy the celebrations and hope for a good game today!

In the light of an unbelievable response in the major Celtic boards and forums I,d like to advise Celtic supporters of the death of my Father, this morning in a hospital in Edinburgh. Aged 92 yrs and still having gone to games up until the recent game in Motherwell when he finally accepted that it was too dangerous to continuing going to games. Having reached that decision I knew that he would pass away in a short period as Celtic was his only, and I do mean only, interest in life. So, since that game he just went downhill rapidly, was admitted to hospital just before Xmas with him passing away this morning, peacefully but incredibly ill. In his life he watched EVERY Celtic team put out by Every Celtic manager, incl. the war years. Don,t think that would be beaten by any supporter!

Ok If that makes you happy you say no for him, just cant help thinking we've been here before with one of your players:lol:

Hey Neil If you do come bring all those seats there not using there just the right colour and they will go nicely in our new top tier:lol:

Ha ha , Canary Bhoy , you got Hooper in. The summer when it was obvious he wanted to try his luck down sarf, sadly it hasn't worked out for him ( or Wolfswinkel) I hope he stays clear of the relegation zone !
The difference is Lenny doesn't want to move at the moment as he's waiting on the Zombies to arrive , though it might be a long time , so he can whisper sweet nothings in Sally's shell !
Anyways we've got Hibbees next Sunday and a freezer to fill with Jelly & Ice Cream in preparation for an Anniversary Event as Valentine's/administration/Grandson's Birthday approaches - so much to celebrate , so little Jelly available!

CB. I closely watched your mob on Saturday, just to get my opinion on their chances of staying in the EPL. Unless someone tells the players to start playing with Hoops and not just let him play up to his own devices I can honestly see Norwich go down in the last couple of weeks of this season as I can see them losing all 6 games in April/May. Now before then they play all the teams nearer to themselves and they must use Hoops ability in the scoring goals lark. Watching that game on Saturday the lad was having to drop back to the centre circle just to get on the ball and, when he did, he made more use of the ball than the rest put to-gether.

Timmylish I don't mean to hijack your great thread about my little team but you so have hit the nail on the head, I'm worried too.....and what manager would get the best out of Hooper?....Yes you guessed it Mr Lennon, I love CH but hes just not using the players correctly, its a nightmare, CH or another manger is going to get the best out our team and I know we will be a force to be reckoned with, I don't know just got to keep plugging away and have faith in Mr Mcnally because he has brought us back from the brink and we have no reason to doubt him now, Better than that Mr Lancaster I can tell you

seanocelt

Hooper is decent, but any decent striker can shine with the chances we create. Getting goals in the EPL with a lower than top ten club will prove just how good he is. No chances though = no goals

New words to a song for you Sean!

"From the Parkhead Forge, tae the Barrowland ballroom"
"This land was bought for you and me"

So its Easter Road today for the battle of the Greens with Tel´s Stormtroopers ! Looks like atrocious weather ahead so will affect the game .
Maybe Big Sammy´s last game or will Neil plump for a couple of our new signings up front since Stokesy is suspended ?
Bound to be physical after last game in Edinburgh so watch out for referee´s "honest mistakes " - let´s keep this run going and stretch our lead !
Interesting to not thye MSM are turning on Supersalary , something going on at Sevco ? A bit of a kicking on Radio Scotland yesterday!

Saw the full game. Good early goal from Commons. After that Celtic didn`t do much
untill the late second half. Flattered victory, not only me saying, although goal 2 and 3
was nice shots.

Celtic v Killie - another decent performance brings home the 3 points against the Ayrshire Branch of Hundom , a poor effort from Killie with Boydchenko sitting on the bench.
Hopefully the bid for Thumbellina at Wolves will peter out and we move onto other targets .Neil I´m sure will get over the disappointment and focus on the upcoming cup-tie with Aberdeen next month .
Paisley Buddies on Sunday for nexr game and a chance to extend our good run!
Nice to see the "other" thread rising from the dead just as they are about to sink again! Hope their wages are paid in March!!

SoThumbellina has signed from Wolves , 800K another lack of ambition signing to join the list .
I hope Neil proves everyone wrong with this signing and the guy screws the nut and behaves himself !
Mind you , Stokesy never did get charged with beating the Elvis impersonator to death ,did he ? More MSM pash !

We have Aberdeen in the Cup today so should be a tough tie for both - Celtic scored very late on in last tie at Celtic Park to win the match and it could go that way again .
Will he start Griffiths or Stokes or even Pukki , will Forrest make it out of his sick bed or has he fallen off the tall bar stool in Elliot´s again ?
Will the Sheep come and sing the same abusive songs they did at their last visit or just chuck their kids´dinner money at Neil, the most abused Ginger in Scotland since Mary Queen of Scots - makes for an interesting day all round !!
I´m looking for 2-0 Celtic but it could go either way with the hype this week - watch this space !!

All in all not a good performance from Celtic. Sadly there stand a loss at the end of the game.
I just saw the first half. After 20-25 mins Celtic stop playing for a second goal.

You are correct Isle. Sometimes you just know. I had a feeling we were not taking this game as HUGE. Guess it wasnt to us.

We regularly fail to show up for one -offs under Neil. It is a concern. HH.

Well skelped fom Aberdeen ,midfield did not compete and defense was poor .
They wanted it more than us , [erhaps this will send a warning note to Lawwell that some decent money may have to be spent!

Celtic v St Johnstone today 14:45 Sky Sports - a chance to see our reaction to last week´s Cup exit and heavy criticism from the press and some fans - looks like Armageddon 2 is just around the corner for us !
All bad news for us this week with illicit land deals, dodgy bank loans, plummeting fan base, Neil leaving ,Sevco on a treble ,and you can now by Blackpool Rock with the word Bazza running through it!! Suck it and see !
Anyway , Thumbelina to start today and will Neil play Sammy instead of Sick-Note just to rile the support ?

A comfortable win and could have scored a few more goals with a bit of luck though St Johnstone offered little in way of attacking play .
Nice to see the Green Brigade back in , by the side door ! It willbe interesting to see what the deal is with them this time , at least they helped to bring a bit of atmosphere to ground . Just a pity they didn´t do it last week , it might have helped !

What with that , the Colyer-Bristow case and release of Charlotte Fake tapes into evidence -

James Doleman ‏@jamesdoleman 1h

Court ends, judge rules "Charlotte"material is admissible in full trial as no police objections.

and next week´s Tax Tribunal Case Appeal being heard in public , it looks like they don´t have their troubles to seek !!

Celtic away to Hearts today -another Tussle at Tynecastle - we are trying to extend our unbeaten run and Frazer´s shut out record , it will be interesting to see if he keeps the Stoke/ Griffiths partnership upfront and who he plays on left side if Izzy is still injured .
Still options on left with Charlie Mulgrew and Boerrigter on wing -Matthews/ Fisher also available - hope it´s a good atmosphere for our last game at Tynecastle for a long while! Shame ,I always liked going there for the "Banter"!

The first half of Hearts-Celtic was quite similar to Hamburg-Dortmund. The only difference
in Edinburgh it was 0:0 after ht in Hamburg with a late goal 1:0 for Hamburg.
Good result for Celtic 0:2 victory.

Hi Davie ! congratulations on your first home win! Keep it and yourselves up !
Mathematical possibility depending on results , we could "clinch " title on 26th at Firhill ! Though I suspect St Mirren game is favourite .
Decent result against Jambos yesterday , at least they made a fight of it in 2nd half - no mention of fan running onto park after Griffiths -shocking stewarding again !
Just as well we won´t be back there for a long time !
Up at the Sheep on Tuesday night on Celtic TV here due to Champions League TV so an excuse for a bevvy !

Yes, Champions League on Tuesday. I´ve a option to watch two games as Dortmund play on 18.00 cet.
Aberdeen away won´t be easy for Celtic as the cup home loss is still in the mind.
