It's a .org forum now rather than the old .com downbhoy. The other one went down due to unpaid bills but Doreen stepped in to pay for a couple of months on this one which Kirstyjay had bought last year. Confusing innit?

We´ve already signed Perisic. I would even take him for
Dortmund. Celtic need Sammy because he´s good
for fast counter attacks. Have You forgot what he´s
done in the new years derby?

Why does some Celtic supporters have
such a bad opinion about Sammy? Same scenes
happens with a other current player.

@ Jungletim, what stuff are You on?
I just have a different opinion about a Celtic player, than You.

Yes i have forgot all about the new year derby.
Must have been the penalty miss at Ibrox, which IMO cost us the league, that erased it from my mind... or maybe it was the shambolic performances in the rest of the games he played.

Sammy is more a player for counterattacks. Most games Celtic plays
against teams which stands there with a solid defence.
In the end its not in our hands what striker comes/gone to Celtic Park.

The season fixture list was released today.
Celtic have Hibs away in the first game of the season which is on Saturday 23rd of july but will probably be put back to Sunday for Sky.

Isle
18-06-2011, 10:05
I´m looking forward to the new season. Celtic start at Hibs,
then Aberdeen away. Then two home games.

This things only happens in Scotland every season.
2 home games, then 2 away games. That stuff happens
a few times every season.
Is there a reason for that?

junglejim
18-06-2011, 13:56
No , just because of size of league and Rangers or Celtic do not usually play in Glasgow on same weekend - it gets more akward when league splits in April for top 6 teams , they then have to even out home and away fixtures !!

CaribeCelt

I know nothing about the guy only that he is a midfielder, which seems to suggest another midfielder leaving because i thought Celtic had plenty in that area.

Was reading on a couple of other forums there that Omer Damari,an Israeli striker, has agreed terms with Celtic and will sign within the next 48hrs.
I must admit, again, that i know nothing of this player but various media sources are saying Kayal recommended him.

I suppose Mr Donoghue as an ex-communist party member would know how to re-engineer history , just like his hero Joe Stalin!! ("It didnae happen" !!) I´ll have to pop in and see him in The Delta in Irvine after the walk !!

North men,South men comrades all......soon they'll be no Protestants at all......
Sectarian?...we all have our idiots, but remember this swings both ways.
The most talented man of our generation the late, great John Stein was offered a ludicrous appointment after he retired, by the THEN Celtic Board, simply because he was a non catholic.
Some folk may say that Orangeism has had its day, but there are people out there proud of their heritage.....and remember the Catholic monarchy all those centuries ago were hated in this country for the fact they persecuted people for daring to pray to God they way they wanted to. The reason we can all worship as we please is down to the Reformation and eveything it brought with it.....that's why there are so many different places of worship in the UK.
If you know your history !.........that is..............here endeth the sermon.AMEN:crazy:

Kenny Miller to re-sign for Rangers for a 3rd time ? Surely Comical Ally can´t be that desperate ,despite his New Suit of Dignity, he´s got several strikers - Miller can´t settle in Turkey ( doesn´t he like Kebas ? Baz does!)

Hibs 0 v Celtic 2
A great start to the season and a good performance today.
I thought Kelvin Wilson looked good and Ki was outstanding and controlled the midfield.
Considering this was their first competitive game i thought they looked solid with some slick passing at times. The signs are looking good and the only worry is can Zaluska be a No.1 keeper...oh and we need to start putting the the penalties away.
With the other lot drawing it turned into a great weekend.

Me? Scared of THAT? Beyjesus, many years ago I took 12 friends, incl. the then Metropolitan Archbishop of Glasgow, Tom Winning, into the Main Stand, in the Rangers half of the stadium when we beat them 3 to 1 with Tommy Burns scoring and then immediately blessing himself. You can imagine the turmoil around us (and my then 12 year old son was with us!). What had happened was that I,d asked Billy Paton, the son of the then chair at Ibrox, for a complete row of tickets and the bassa gave me those for a laugh, not knowing that aside from my mob, Tom was to be with us. Billy, to be fair knowing that I was not an RC, was not to know that I would be entertaining such an eminent guest (not for the first or last time)!

Yes, a completely inept performance from mainly forwards and some midfield - literaly "Just Not Good Enough" for a team hoping to wrestle the League from an apparently moribund Rangers Organisation due to collapse shorly.
If we don´t improve this week then we´ll end up in same situation and have to find a "Fergus" as Dermot Desmond doesn´t look like being a philanthropist or Lawless loosening up any cash - he´s just interested in bottom line and no risks !
At least Davie you got a point yesterday - gets you moving off bottom - you could make a bid for some of our excess dead wood - Sammy , Rammy, Murphy - there must be a joke in there somewhere about the Greek, the Dane and the Irishman - but I think it´s on us !! 3 strikers and we´re out !

Caribecelt - don't know what he's done in past to upset Celtic or Lenny but he´s not getting a game , he´s likely to be out door by 1st of Sept. as Lawless wants as much dead wood out and off books to help our finances this season - McGeady money from last year has gone to shore up accounts, not on players - next 9 days of transfer window should be interesting !

Think they were interested in buying him but Lawwell wanted too much ! Lenny still wants a striker and LB cover - probably loans !
Roque Santa Cruz a slight chance !
Don´t think we´ll see much until after Thursday night´s game with Sion - no EL then no real interest in playing in SPL !

I thought the Buddies caused Celtic problems today and a better quality team would have punished Celtic.
The wee lad Hasselbaink ran big Majstorovic ragged.
And Celtic's midfield was totally over run.
Hooper and Mulgrew were the two best Celtic players.
Last year that team were a completely different outfit and I thought that with a few additions that they could have had decent run in Europe.
On a few other forums people are questioning Lennon's tactics, what do people here think?I think they have a fair point as some of Lennon's decisions have been debatable to say the least.
I am not calling for his head but if things dont pick up playing wise then serious questions will have to be asked.
If Celtic play like that against the top 5 teams in the SPL they will get beaten.

Might agree with you on best players but we couldn´t pass to save ourselves today - too many times we passed the ball into dead spaces or gave it away - thank god we got 2 early goals .
Think we we´re still living Thursday´s nightmare - big Dan has to go - well exposed again today by Hasselbaink .
The scary thing is if we get in by back door to EL we will be embarrassed like Arsenal today - can´t see Lawwell spending any decent money on forward or central defender !
A wee International break to help us regroup and get our heads sorted , never mind our blood pressure !

Regarding the game against The Gers & Atletico I would give Forrest a start because the lad can make chances and cause havoc with his running at defences.

Good 2nd half performance from Rangers, whose best team, on paper , beats our best team. Celtic 1 v Udinese 1

I thought Celtic played well tonight with the stand-outs being Wanyama,Bangura and Mulgrew.
The defence looked better and Zaluska was solid...the midfield were brilliant IMO.
People may cry about the soft penalty robbing us but i'll take the draw as this Udinese are a top side and it is a hell of a better performance than against Sion.
Only for a few minutes lapse of concentation in our first couple of games this group could look very different.
That is something Lennon needs to work on with the players but overall im happy enough and think we are slowly but surely making progress.

Everybody in that team bar Charlie Mulgrew and Wanyama let down Celtic today...and why was Stokes dropped again:duh:
Something has to be done and quick...I said it before and I'll say it again:Neil Lennon's being Irish is keeping him in a job...If anybody else had a Celtic team playing like this they would have been crucified months ago...looked what happened to Strachan for Christs sake...This Celtic minded nonsense is a curse.
IMO Neil has to go...bring in a manager based on his credentials instead of his connection to Celtic...but what manager worth their salt would come to us at the minute?...that is the million dollar question.

First of all I haven´t saw todays game. The result is really not good.
I don´t think to change the coach now is a good thing.
Its the second year of the coaching career and there is no doubt
Lennon had to bring back the league title to Celtic Park this season. In my opinion he has till the end of the season.

Yes I´d rather keep Lennon but on present performance the team is letting him down badly , especially when you consider all the crap he put up with last year .
It doesn´t help either when you read of players such as Ledly being out at 3 in the morning at night clubs when the team is performing so badly!
Time for a bit of discipline and effort - and I can´t even blame Sammy today !
Focus on our problems and forget about everyone elses until we hit a winning streak "They´re just not good enough" should be getting sung just now by Green Brigade and a few banners to re-enforce the theme so that the players get the message !

Sorry Jim there is something not right behind the scenes at Celtic at the moment and the common factor is Lennon they should ditch him ( and the staff he brought in ) now and bring in someone who knows the job. The players attitude on and off field activities are his reponsibility and he is failing miserably on all aspects of his job if he was employed by me in my industry he would have been ditched months ago

Hard to take the digs from my friends from the darkside right now, but thats the game eh?

Absolutely abysmal first half effort from whole team / kayal close to getting sent off again , happening too often, tactics from Killie overwhelmed us in midfield and again Mastorovitch clueless- giving a gift of goal before half time just suicide - 2nd half better but not convinced Bangura is the centre forward we hoped for -
Some dodgy rumours coming from friends in Glasgow of Commons and his friend " Charlie " similiar to Boyd ,Broadfoot and Hutton a couple of years ago, and Lennon being on the thrash last week - as you say AJ , leadership and focus is what´s needed just now - let´s see if 2nd half was a turning point to an atricious start to the season - couldn´t get much worse ....

St Mirren 0 v Celtic 2

Don't like to quote myself:shy:
But you could see this coming months ago.
People are saying Lennon has lost the dressing room,I don't think he has,I think he is acting too much of a friend to the players.
After brutal performances he keeps saying he cant fault them, saturday apart, and with the same dross about turning it around.
We need a manager who the players are petrified off and I don't think Lennon is the man.
Also we all know he has went through a hard time in Glasgow through bigotry and racism of the other mob but that should'nt buy him time...If Lennon remains in charge we are due another 5 or 6 defeats and that is not good enough for Celtic.
I appreciate the love he has for Celtic and the hardships he has been through but it is time Lennon called it a day.

I look back to the short time ago when my old mate, Gordon Strachan, was in situ. The abuse HE got was truly remarkable as were his overall results, compared to this current squad (if you can call a disjointed group of fitba' players a squad). I,ll bet you an awful lot of his detractors wish he had never been forced out, by them!
Thommo is on the **** nearly every night, Lennon just a little behind so, this aint what you would wish your bosses to allude to! I honestly believe that there is something about Kayal and his pals in this group. Apparently they just don,t rate any of the management team (other than the kit-man!) and make it quite clear to anyone who,ll listen. If wee Lennon is gonna stay, for the immediate future then, its high time for a complete press blank-out! No player or management team to talk to the press other than those interviews which are contractually impossible to get out of. Pre and post match ones, for example. This team should be able to beat most of the opposition without any coaching, tactics et all. They should be able to do this. If Lennon walks then who is brought in? This is the most difficult question, which, at the moment is not being answered, imho. I am looking forward to the games these days, like most of our fantastic fans and I just wonder how much longer they will turn out for games or, worse start making their feelings known throughout the games?
Its just as well the future,s bright 'cause, as always, its green and white!

Celtic 3 v Rennes 1

A good shift put in by most tonight and a great result in the end...I could'nt see that outcome after the first twenty minutes.
Wanyama was brilliant as was young Forrest and I thought, now wait for this JungleJim,Samaras put in a wonderful shift.
The defence was gash and big Maj is useless and must be dropped,in the Clyde preferably, and the young lad who came on for Loovens,Frazer, take his place.
Cha was getting run ragged most of the night as well and Lennon really has to get this defence sorted.
All in all a good night and although Celtic are not firing on all cylinders we are still in with a chance.
Our Borussia Dortmund correspondent Isle is in Glasgow tonight for the game and brought us a bit of luck me thinks.

Hope Isle enjoyed it.Rennes are a reasonable French team, pure amatuers compared to a mid table Spanish team. Our fall from , not grace, but status , is huge. And if a motivated Motherwell turn us over on Sunday, its going to mean change, like it or not (im a Lennon fan, but my Strachan-ite mates are screaming "told you so "). Amazing how many ex Hoops are flourishing.......Marshall, Hoiveld, Lambert, Mcckay, O Dea. (mibees no McGeady). Scottish football needs sorting, cant see anyone up to the job. Positives? Green Brigade and friends at least make it feel like we gie a f...k. ...............Hail Hail...................Always.

Well. on Sunday, after ma wee dug worked out that I was not trying to find his bone under our sofa he eventually gave me his place to sit and watch the game off the mirror facing me! Wee Forrest is well (no pun intended) .ucked after that game. His legs must need skin transplants methinks. Will he be able to recover for Inverness, I personally don,t think so. He needs a couple of weeks rest, full stop. So for the Highlands again. At least it won,t be icy and snowy yet so hopefully the playing surface should suit us. Leave that baldy Scandi out of the team and maybe, just maybe we will not need to come back from a goal down in under 5 minutes. Get a couple of smash and grab, early goals and take the steam out of Butcher,s thugs, fill up the middle of the park and stay that way for the full game. Deal done, back down the road and get a couple of home games with some solid performances before dealing with the huns (will I get reported for that?). Hail hail!

Yes big challenge tonight to overcome not just "The Ragers" but the Scottish media as well , they have been incessant in their bias recently , so hopefully we can put them in their place as well !!

The only high balls I want to see is when Wanyama puts a tackle on Girafferty or Jellylegs and sends them in the air!!
Very tense around blog boards as time ticks away ... off to Celtic Club shortly for a pre match swally and banter ! HailHail !

I'm hearing a lot of Tims from this side of the water haven't made the match due to the ferries being cancelled.

A hard fought match in many senses.. a few chances missed but overall a deserved win .
Glad we kept our composure despite some horrendous tackles getting only yellows .
Now to push on and consolidate our run with some more victories !

A good year for Celtic. It started and ended with fantastic
derby victorys. It was a well deserved victory for Celtic.
It was a great team performance at all, so no player was
outstanding in my opinion.

Maybe the visit of this fan and Borussia Dortmund player
help to refresh the friendship from Celtic and the BVB.

Oh he plays left mid,
And he plays left back,
Even centre half,
And he does not slack,
He's our prodigal son and he hates the Huns,
He's Charlie mulgrew,
He's Charlie mulgrew,
Ooohhhhh, Ooohhhh.
AND........... ( despite never being a left back, even in Lennys wildest dreams), he is the most improved, versatile player in the squad. Hail Hail Charlie Bhoy.

St Mirren 0 v Celtic 2

Phew, that was a tough game...Celtic were up against it there for long periods.
Again not playing particulary well and getting the points, cant ask more than that.
A couple of negatives though IMO was Cha's performance,BRUTAL,is the only word that springs to mind...and Ledley at LB,that Imirie gotta a bag of chances, but that aint Ledley's fault because he isn't a LB and shouldn't be put there.
Broony's goal was a carbo copy of the one he scored against the hordes at Ibrox.
Anway,well done Celtic.

We got passed aff the park for nearly the whole game. I can honestly say that we will not play any worse and get away with this sort of result, again. Yes 3 points and thankful, very thankful, for that.Must have been the worst weather seen on a live game for a long time so it was probably made to look worse. Lurch had a blinder so it seems we are to be stuck with him. Just cannot take to him at all. Perhaps its just he looks thick!!!!!!! How can you look thick?

Think that phoatie sums up my feelings....win ugly. Saw both games and im happy enough. Of course Joe isnt a left back, but Aluko got the same space against him the other week, we keep playing guys out of position but Lennon is showing his awareness at times, giving cover players (Mulgrew and Wanyama ) extra jobs to do. When we have a fully fit Emillio and Commons, where do we put certain others? And where is the room for the new buys Bhoys? Aberdeen gave the other ones a right fright. Correct though by Timmy and others the weather made for a tricky day. Now its 2 cup ties, away from home and a confident approach with a team that looks less scared than it used to....thats progress. Hail Hail...always me bhoys

PS; watched games in the oh so busy Hoops Bar , Los Crostianos today. The half dozen "Dandie Dons ", Aberdeen fans who came in and sang " we hate Rangers more than you", often, and loudly, were a hoot! Fit like Loons?!

Jim. I thought myself to be unshockable when it comes to the huns but even I sit here and gloat! A practice unusual for me. I,ve believed that there was a distinct possibility of them going into liquidation or similar but I now wish upon them the ultimate of going out of business altogether, Remember years ago when people in England said that if Leeds went bust the English game would suffer. Well it didn,t and it wont in Scotland either. Do them over the leagues they won with "stolen" money. These should be wiped from the record books on top of a penalty of 15 or so points (if a new company starts up in their name) for the next 5 years. What I completely fail to understand is how on earth the huns supporters still seem to believe their "Lord and master"of old, Scotland,s knighted guru, the financial wizard commonly known as David Murray and also I believe that his Title should be denounced and taken from him! After all, this is all down to him, one way or the other. I,m over and out as I will not waste breath in making sure my spelling and grammar is correct or almost so.

I think you might find Timmy that once the FTT complete their findings on the tax case further murkier developments may follow - suggestions of criminal acts, sourcing of finance etc. (S)DM´s K will be the least of their worries .
More revelations in DR due Wednesday to keep the internal war going !
The present internecine war is just starting - a couple of years of legalities are to follow .
More to the point , we have to get our club in order on and off the field to drive home the advantage as recent performances have just not been good enough .
