We all talk about how great our holidays are in Tenerife but very few of us post pics.
If you have never been to the island you have no real idea what its like apart from what you read on the forum.
I will start the ball rolling with a few snaps from my holiday Oct 2010.
We always stay at the Compostela Beach Complex because of the location nr the beach.

What a lovely little boy Ed. Looks like he was really enjoying himself.

I live here so I don't holiday here but my sister came out last year with her neighbour from Vancouver Island, while they were part of a choral group touring the UK and heading to a song festival in Wales. Before returning to Canada they had a few days here, so these are some of the holiday snaps I took of them.

I've put them into a slideshow so as not to take up too much room on the thread. You can speed it up by clicking 'fast' in the top left corner.

Keep your cursor at your screen bottom to stop the thumbnails from bobbing up.

Here's a few pics from my recent trip to Tenerife, we stayed in Golf del Sur. The trip was largely to check out some of the areas in Tenerife with a view to spending a longer period of time there, but on a 'holiday'-day we went up Mt Teide, gotta say what a stunning place, you can see why it's been featured in so many films!

I'm due to go on holiday to the island on Tuesday for a week. I take lots of photos, particularly on vacation - 1,300 or so for a one-week holiday isn't uncommon. I'll only use a relatively small number of these of course, which I upload to my paid-for Flickr account.

My question is: am I better dumping all the photos here on this thread or am I better starting a new one? I post the photos which directly link back to my Flickr account, like so...

http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2137/2081575171_116a42003e_z.jpg (http://www.flickr.com/photos/lancashire/2081575171/)

(a photo taken four years ago this November in Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote)

...which then makes it easy for people to see my photos in larger sizes or even download it in full resolution should they so wish.

I'll include a bit of commentary with my images but the photos will do most of the talking. :)

there was one horrible bar near our hotel which we used once, Jacks I think it was called...found a much better bar up near the big roundabout,Ziggy's, that was not too bad.....same reason for the bars here too, hangover juice needed;).. we found some lovely little bars along the walk though, from the Altamira hotel down to LC..bleeding 100's of bars.....we did use Balu's in LC quite a bit, and the north and south when it was there.....we did try the Kaluna bar, on a lovely hot day, nice views, nice pool, good beer, the music was a bit too young for us though, but we had a good time;)

hi MM, how long did you live out there for? or are you still there?.. I would love to retire out there, 12 years planning to do, but in a low paid job, (due to serious accidents over the years, not being a bit dolly dimple;)).. but the missus does not want to. so I have been doing the next best thing, having a few holidays there,( coming up is our 7th holiday there since sept 2012).. maybe I can get her around to my way of thinking, cost of living lower so pension would go further, better weather all year round, easy going paced life.....

ha ha lucky, it's a deal ;)depending on how old you are, putting money into AVC's may not be worth it, i know that because i only have about 13 years left before should retire at 67 the only benefit i would get is the fact that if i put £100 in the government put another £20 in, and i intend to retire at 60 anyway, so i lose about 25% of my pension:(

hi marbro, thanks,I do sort of know that but, seeing as in my whole working life,I only have 7 yrs worth of pension, I thought that anything I could do at all, to even up my pension by a couple of grand, I would do......there are serious reasons why, that out of what should have been a full working life, I only have 7 yrs worth of pension, 2 very serious life threatening accidents put me out of work for two very long spells. never got around to having any ideas at all about pensions......my head was all scrambled up with trying to live, more than thinking about pensions...oh well, at least I proved some family members wrong, they were saying that I would never work again, due to my injuries......but, my pride made me work....doing a hard manual job now, but it sort of knackers me every single day. I had too long out of work to not ever wanting to work again.....if that makes sense? ;)

This thread is for 'my holiday snaps' I did promise a retirees snaps thread. But BUt it now looks as we need a nearly retired to Tenerife Grumpy thread , I do think that is possible and members will freely oblige .so get your goodself over here and start snapping with your camera not with a Mr grumpy head.:flatcap::feret::feret::feret::feret:

PS may i suggest you look for accomodation At Lower GDS . Because i could do with a grumpy assistant. It seems all that is left to myself to facilitate
