When this Forum went onto a new Server I lost my profile, all my posts, and all my PMs. I was a Tenerifian not a Newby as I am now being shown as. I have sent countless requests asking for help in re-instating my status, but never ever get an acknowledgement or a reply - Why?
Anyone else had similar problems? ???

As has been explained as nauseum, everyone was a newbie a month ago.

As the old Forum was lost we all had to start again. Until the old database is recovered then we just have to live with it

Where were you sending these requests for help? This appears to be your 1st post on the .org Forum

I know it is frustrating for everyone to have to start again from scratch. We are hoping to have good news in the next few weeks about recovering the old data ... in the meantime, we ask for your patience :)

There are many threads about this. You could try with THIS (http://www.tenerifeforum.org/tenerife-forum/showthread.php?4408-Why-am-I-a-newbie) one

we only have one helpdesk ticket outstanding (and that is because we can't sort it at the moment.

Thanks for the quick replies to :- Slodgedad, Doreen, and Mike in Chayofa.

1.
My requests for help were sent by clicking on "admin@tenerifeforum.org"
2.
As a Moderator on another Forum I always acknowledge any requests
automatically - but on Tenerife Forum you don't get an acknowledgement
so you are never sure if your request was received or not.
3.
I wasn't aware that you are still attempting to recover lost posts and PMs
etc., I think my problem is that on the previous server my username was
"tdm" (all small case) but if I try to log in as "tdm" now it changes it to
"Tdm", so the username appears to be case sensitive and
maybe I am still in the system somewhere as "tdm" but can't log in with
that username any more!?
4.
I shall wait a little longer to see what happens, but the fact remains I
have sent in several queries/questions of this Forums
Moderators/Administrators over the years I have been a member, but never
had a single acknowledgement or answer.

Please donīt get hung up on status, it is not worth it, enjoy the forum for what it is not the number of post counts people have, those with large numbers could all be drivel  take it from one who knows

All members' first port of call should be to submit a Help Ticket when they have a problem.

All mods have access to this and the first one online will try to deal.

If they can't then it is passed up the tree.

As Mike said; there is only one ticket left outstanding and it is a database issue.

Is Tdm short for tedium?

and. . . . you're talking about this forum as if it were the same as the old one, and in reality, its NOT.

A forum is its members and contents, with those gone, so has that forum.

But, this being a new forum with new (some old) members and new (some old / similar threads ) its still a forum, but a different one.

Think of it as I do. The OLD one was .com, this one (new one) is .org

Being a 'moderator on another forum', I thought that all this would have been common sense and obvious !?!

If someone bought the tenerifeforum.net website thats for sale, that would again be another tenerife forum - unless the .org owners own it / buy it !!

Thanks for the more sensible replies, despite one post being a little condescending in part of it's content.
No, tdm is not short for tedium, and No, I don't care about status.
It was the fact that I had lost some contact details and info I wanted to keep in old PMs that I was most concerned about.
