Another overcast day yesterday afternoon although a cloudless sun was predicted.
There was some blue sky in the north, but clouds covered the rest.

Good Morning!

We had sunshine yesterday afternoon and it was quite warm during the night as well.

This morning at 7:45 am the temperature was over 20°C and the sky was overcast.

The provincial forecast is for clouds in the north of the islands and the local forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for sun with cloud.

Light winds are from the north and the UV is very high at 11.

The weekend should be more of the same, with sun and a little cloud in the north.

This morning is again overcast and there are some low dark clouds looming overhead.

Although the provincial forecast is for clouds again, with a possibility of showers in low areas, the forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for only partly cloudy with sun.

Temperatures will range from 19° to 24°C. Light winds from the north, more intense on west coast and northeast. UV high at 10.

Yesterday we again had sun and cloud with warm temperatures up to 24°C.

This morning is overcast but as I write now it's only 8:30 am and if the sun breaks through, it will probably happen around 10 o'clock.

It's already over 20°C and the humidity is a high 70%.

The RTVE weather girl shows much cloud all around the islands, cloudy in the north and temperatures in the north for today from 20° to 24°C.

We're still having those cloudy days with warm temperatures.

That's the way it was yesterday and although this morning is overcast at 8:00 am it's already 20.5°C.

At 9:45 am this morning it began to drizzle a bit.

Aemet provincial forecast predicts more sun and clouds in the north with possible showers.
Light winds from the north and UV high at 10. Expected temperatures up to 24°C.

The forecast for Puerto de la Cruz says no rain and only partly cloudy.

The mainland of Spain is experiencing heavy storms as is south of France.

Great photos Sharon! Corpus Christi shots brought back a lot of happy memories! When does it take place this year?

The events related to Corpus Christi are going on in La Orotava from May 15th to July 3rd this year, but the making of the flower carpets and the evening procession is on June 30.

I believe they are already working on the sand carpets at the present time.
I'll wait until the last week of June before going up to see them.

Good Morning!

A lot of dark clouds around yesterday but the sun also shone and it was warm.

This morning there were a few wet spots on the patio but there was only a small puddle in the rain gauge so very little rain fell during the night or early morning.

It's again overcast and it looks like there may be a few drops more.
The air is balmy and early morning temperature was over 21°C.

The provincial forecast for today is for cloudy in the north with probability of occasional showers, moderate northeast winds with some intervals of strong gusts on northwest coasts, slight drop in temperatures.

The forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for partly cloudy. Temperatures 19° to 24°C and UV high at 10.

I was talking with a friend in Germany this morning on Skype and he said they have the same weather there - cloudy every day with a little rain.

Well it's warm and we don't have storms and giant hail as they had yesterday on the Spanish mainland.

The TV news showed a scene like midwinter where they had to call out heavy machines to clear away the hail which was like piles of snow.

Yesterday we had some large expanses of blue sky and hot sun, and even though there were some clouds it was a pleasant 22° or more.

This morning at 7:30 am the air temperature was just below 20°C and the morning cloud was clearing, showing patches of blue.

There was a slight drizzle at 9:15 am and it's clouding over again.

The provincial forecast is for morning cloud with a possible early morning shower, changing to clear with cloudy intervals in the afternoon.

Maximum temperatures rising slightly and minimums dropping. Moderate northeast winds with occasional strong gusts.

Expected temperatures for north Tenerife from 19° to 25°C; UV high at 10.

Good Morning!

It was beautiful and sunny yesterday afternoon, with broad expanses of blue sky until the late afternoon when some cloud took over.

Early this morning there's a little blue sky appearing in gaps between clouds. Temperature at 8 am was 20.2°C.

By 10 am the sun is shining and the sky is mostly clear and blue.

The provincial forecast from Aemet again mentions the abundance of clouds with a possible shower later today.

The forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for cloudless, light northwinds, temperatures of 16° to 22° (I believe that's the airport temperature) and UV high at 10.

Similar conditions for Saturday and next week, light winds from north and northeast, temperatures rising and by next Tuesday the min/max will be at 18° to 24°C. In Puerto de la Cruz we are already having temperatures of 24°C. UV rises to 11 for Saturday to Monday.

Yesterday - I had a lovely lunch at Alvaro's tennis club with a girlfriend and two ladies from this forum: Anski and Megaloo.

We had medallions of pork tenderloin in roquefort sauce with cranberries and sautéd German style potatoes with bacon bits (bratkartoffeln).
It was delicious and the weather was warm and sunny.

Yesterday was another warm day and although there was total cloud cover around 1 pm the sky cleared for brilliant sunshine later.

This morning at 8 am it was again overcast with a temperature of 20.6°C.

Provincial forecast for today is for cloudy to very cloudy in the north with a possible light shower early in the day, clear sky at high altitudes; light to moderate north winds and temperatures without change.

We are continuing to have warm weather with a lot of cloud, as you can see in the photos from yesterday afternoon.

It's warm during the night too and I was kicking off the covers.

The provincial forecast again predicts cloud for the morning, clearing a little at midday with the chance of a light shower at some time; temperatures rising slightly; light northeast winds.

Another overcast afternoon yesterday and this morning at 9 am it looked the same.

I think we've had enough cloud now and we're ready for a change, but they do have the same conditions on the other six islands.

The southern Spanish mainland is expecting temperatures in the high 30s today.

Yesterday we had a lovely sunny afternoon with air temperatures around 24°C and higher in Puerto de la Cruz. However there was evening cloud cover that prevented any sight of the lunar eclipse.

This morning is also sunny with blue sky and signs of another fine day. The calima is now over and the sky is clear.

The provincial forecast is for a little cloud or clear with intervals of some low cloud in the north; temperatures the same or dropping slightly with a high of 27° predicted for Sta. Cruz.

Winds northeast moderate to strong along the northwest coast; intervals of strong winds in central and high northeast areas with occasional very strong winds in the late afternoon.

Puerto de la Cruz will have light northeast and east winds 5 to 10 km/h, temperatures 18° to 24°C and clear skies and UV very high at 11.

Friday looks like it will be very cloudy, with moderate north winds of 20 km/h, temperatures slightly lower.

From my files - June 17, 2007 - I attended the Romeria de San Isidro in La Orotava.

A great yearly fiesta with around 85 oxen-drawn carts, each with a working grill cooking sausages and meat.

The residents are in their mago costumes, there's free-flowing wine, food and plenty of music and dancing.

The red of their costumes denotes they are from Orotava:

Annette...I haven't yet seen a complete forecast for next Tuesday but the Spanish weather office says there may be calima coming again from Monday, seen first in areas of middle and high altitude. It's a little difficult to predict with any accuracy for more than a couple of days ahead.

They also say the temperatures are going up from Sunday. Calima always means hotter temperatures but there is no confirmation that it will be up to 42°, or in which part of the island. By Sunday we should have a more accurate prediction.

The Spanish national TV (RTVE) weather site gives temperatures for Tuesday as....examples:

Puerto de la Cruz - 18 to24°
Adeje........18° to 26°
Santa Cruz.....21° to 27°

Well it was overcast most of the day yesterday and then as a surprise around 7 pm we had a light rain.

That wasn't mentioned in the forecast for Puerto de la Cruz, although it was in the general provincial forecast.

Yesterday was overcast and warm all afternoon with some hazy sun.

This morning is again overcast with no blue sky in sight and high humidity that makes working outdoors a little uncomfortable. Let's hope the sun will come out and burn it off.

Today's forecast is for partly cloudy with light north winds and temperatures rising 18° to 24°C; warmer in south facing central areas; winds strong in central peaks.UV very high at 11.

Temperatures of up to 30°C expected in Santa Cruz.
There is calima announced, as I mentioned in previous weather reports and it will be more noticeable in the eastern islands where there is an orange alert and in the south of Tenerife. But we should also be getting some here in the north.

Well yesterday morning at 10 am after I wrote about the overcast sky and pressed the SUBMIT button the clouds disappeared and we had wall to wall blue sky and calima.

The day was warm but the humidity stayed high.
Today is sunny and warm, the sky is hazy with a little light cloud.

The calima will continue for today and tomorrow with maximum expected temperatures of 34°C at middle and high altitudes in La Orotava and Vilaflor, and 30°C in Sta. Cruz, from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm.

The islands of Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are in orange alert for high temperatures today, as is most of Gran Canaria.

The south, east and west of Tenerife is in yellow alert, while the north coast is not.

Puerto de la Cruz can expect a little cloud, little or no wind from the north, temperatures of 19° to 25°C, and UV very high at 11.

Whew it's warm isn't it...and humid!

I was in downtown Puerto yesterday around 1 pm and was wishing I could jump into one of those Lido pools or the sea. I only got as far as taking a couple of photos.

The calima and high temperatures will continue for today.

This morning at 7 am it was 22.7° and the humidity outside my window under a tree was 89%.
Drying clothes outdoors takes longer.

The provincial forecast is for a little morning cloud, otherwise clear skies, temperatures slightly lower.

Moderate northeast winds, stronger in the afternoon, with intervals of very strong on northwest and southeast slopes.

On central peaks strong to very strong west winds. Forecast high for Sta. Cruz of 30°C.

Puerto de la Cruz can expect a cloudless day today with minimum and maximum temperatures of 20° and 25°C.

Light winds from north and northeast and UV very high at 11.

Tomorrow we'll have more of the same with the minimum temperature dropping to 19°C.

La Orotava and Vilaflor are predicted to have temperatures of up to 34°C between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm today.

Tomorrow should be a little cooler when the yellow alert is lifted for the islands. Some strong winds in northwest and southeast.

This morning looks clear and fresh. At 7:30 am the sky was free of cloud, temperature was 21.8°, the sun was coming out and there was a cool breeze.

Provincial forecast for today is for a few cloudy intervals along the north coast, temperatures dropping a little, northeast winds moderate to strong, more intense on northwest and southeast slopes.

Expected high for Sta. Cruz is 27°C.

Forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for a cloudless day, light winds from north/northeast and temperatures from 19° to 25°C. UV high at 11 today and tomorrow.

Saturday conditions the same with temperatures dropping one degree.
A little morning cloud on Sunday with temperatures of 18° to 23°C.

Aemet still predicts more calima for Saturday and Sunday.
Tomorrow it will be seen more on the eastern islands and Sunday it should affect the whole archipelago.

This morning is sunny with a forecast for another warm day with the sky almost clear.
Shade temperature at 9:00 am was 22.6°C with 69% humidity.

Provincial forecast from Aemet is for some cloud along north coast, otherwise little cloud or clear.
Minimum temperatures dropping a little, maximums the same; north winds light to moderate.
Expected high today for Sta. Cruz is 29°C.
There's an extreme heat alert for mainland Spain but not for Canaries.

Forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for a little morning and evening cloud, otherwise clear the rest of the day. Light north winds at 10 km/h, temperatures from 18° to 24°C and UV high at 10.

There will be more calima seen first in the eastern islands today but reaching Tenerife and the other islands tomorrow.

Yesterday was a perfect summer day with deep blue skies and sunshine all day. Air temperature in Pto de la Cruz stayed at around 25° to 27°C maximum.

This morning is going to be another warm day although nothing like the temperatures expected on the Spanish peninsula where 40° and even more is expected in many areas.

The Aemet provincial forecast is for clouds in the north and clear elsewhere. Temperatures rising slightly, especially in high areas.

North winds light to moderate, stronger on central high areas.
Maximum forecast for Sta. Cruz is 28°C.

Monday provincial forecast is for some cloud and possible light rain along coastal areas, maximum temperatures dropping a little, winds moderate with some strong gusts in the afternoon on northwest coast.

Yesterday was overcast all day and I didn't see the sun at all, unless it came out and went in again while I was having a siesta.

This morning was cloudy just after 7 am, however the temperature was already over 22.2°C.

I found it hard to sleep last night as it was so warm.

The Aemet provincial forecast for today is for cloud in low lying areas of the north, little or no cloud elsewhere, temperatures may rise slightly.

Winds northeast light with intervals of strong in the northwest.
High today of 30°C in Sta. Cruz.

Sharon, I have just caught up on all your wonderful updates and photos which I missed when I was away. The weather in Tenerife was the hottest I have ever experienced in June! We had a wonderful time as always and thoroughly enjoyed our two day visit to Puerto.I had an early morning walk around the La Paz area on Wednesday the 22nd hoping that you might have been out and about with your camera but alas I was not lucky enough to meet you. Well there is always next year! Enjoy Corpus Christi if you are venturing to La Orotava tomorrow.:)

Yesterday was again overcast, it was a little cooler and the same is predicted for today. This morning at 7:30 am the outside shade temperature was 22.1°C and the humidity was 78%, so it's humid and mild.

The Aemet provincial forecast is for very cloudy in low lying areas, and either partially cloudy or clear elsewhere.

Northeast winds moderate, with strong gust on high peaks.
No change in temperatures. High today for Sta. Cruz is 29°/30°C.

Intervals of some strong wind predicted for Saturday and Sunday on northwest and southeast coasts.

Forecast for Puerto de la Cruz is for very cloudy today, light north winds at 15 km/h, temperatures between 19° and 25°C and UV very high at 11.

I'm making it short today because I want to dash off to Orotava as early as I can to photograph the sand carpets and the making of the flower carpets.

Today is the celebration of Corpus Christi in that town and the carpets are something I try not to miss.

Too bad we didn't meet up that morning in La Paz.
I may have been out walking around and passed you without knowing!

Have a great day all and if you can make it, get up to La Orotava and see the splendid carpets.
Wear good walking shoes - there are cobblestone streets.
The procession is usually around 6 pm but I didn't check that time for this year.
To see the carpets get there in the morning or early afternoon.

I hope I can post some lovely photos for you tomorrow.

Thanks Canarybird have a good time I may be able to go a bit later today not sure. This weather seems to follow me around not good when I left for England not too good there and now back to cloud again.
