Tony likes Mahou Negra. And you can get Vodka 75cl for €3.95 in Mercadona or 1ltr for around a fiver in hiperdino
Vodka is pretty cheap most places though.

Hmmm, been ages since I had it to be honest. Dont have the cash for it.
The one I got in Hiper Dino looks very similar, same bottle etc and is pretty smooth - not hangover causing if you get me

God, I sound like a right alckie!!

That reminds me, I must go and check on my vodka filled watermelon :)

Cocktails can be quite dear, just depends on where you go. PDLA area will be costly but you will be able to find them for between 3-4 euros. Cheaper still if you go to a non touristy place but you might have to talk them through it :)

For me - Estrella Galicia

But the REAL best beer is the one you enjoy most, whatever the brand. On a hot day, the best beer can just be the one the nicest bar sells.

In my opinion you can't beat a pint of San Miguel in a frosted glass !

tbh any local brew is nice san miguel, dorada, tropical and they are all stronger than carling, do not waste 3-4 euros on imported european-english beers because you can get a pint of local beer for 1.50 euros(make sure you ask for local when ordering),and the local spirits are cheap and taste ok my wife likes the peach shnaps and she only usually drinks archers

When I moved to Tenerife in '94 all I ever drank was Guinness, hated lager.

Thankfully, at that time, the Guinness was crap and extortionate and I discovered Spanish beer and love it.

As it's lager beer I thought I would enjoy lager when I went to the UK, but no. Fizzy and weak.

OK if you live in the UK and then come here, but the other way round it's like shandy.

DORADA RULES OK!!...and Campcruzo and Reina and Mahou and.................I could go on forever.

I've travelled the world and all points west in the UK and the best advice I ever had, before becoming an alcoholic was; Drink what the locals do.

The strange thing is 'the other man's grass etc.etc' syndrome seems to apply everywhere.

Most of my Spanish friends drink Heineken and look down their noses when I have Dorada...Weird or what?

Agree here, Dorada always popular with the expat locals, but many European countries know Amstel , known for quality.

I once brought a bottle of 43 Licor over but do you know it didnt taste as good over here........obviously doesnt travel well...could be something to do with the climate and ambience , or lack of ,over here!a lot of foreign beers are brewed under licence here in the uk so will not taste the same, typical examples are stella and san miguel, they are 5.2% and 5.4% respectfully in their country of origin but over here they are brewed to 5% because of our rules on drinking responsibly ???, for gods sake it has got to ruin the real taste!! they are idiots, so up untill rescently i have been buying the imported san miguel from my local asian retailer who now informs me that it is no longer available because the government are clamping down on the imports of strong beers???
