some people said the pretzel come from italy and other people said france. but..

Well, according to "The history of science and technology" from 610 AD by Bryan Bunch and Alexander Helleman ".. an italian monk invents pretiola (latin for "little reward", and is the word where "pretzels" come from) as a reward to childre...n who learn their prayers. He calls strips of baked dough, folded to resemble arms crossing the chest."
This suggest that pretzels may originate from Italy, but some say that there are evidence that they are from Southern France.
However, I believe that they are in fact from Greece, because old drawings from thousands of years ago shows a ring bread who look much like a pretzel.

so now you know!!
