Did anybody see the young osprey flying high over Sueno Azul yesterday, it eventually landed on an electricity post near to the large water tank at the top end of Sueno Azul. I havent seen one before but wondered if they are a regular sight here in Tenerife
Im sorry i missed that Jollypolly, seen Parrots and a lot of hawks over Sueno but not an Osprey

There has been an Osprey nest in the cliffs at Los Gigantes for 3 years or so now. They get easy pickings from the fishermen and also now the fishfarm, but I haven´t seen one in Callao, excellent news, they are wonderful to watch when hunting.
There are resident harriers that roost on the satellite dishes and roof of Agua Viva, hunting over the ground towards Callao Beach and Mirador de la Gomera.
Back here in the UK near where I live by Rutland Water we have an Osprey nest with a webcam ....you can see the little ones being fed ...and the Mum and Dad so careful ....and just in the last couple of days they have grown ....

tut...tut ..... :fryingpan: :eyebrows:
Ospreys have been nesting on the cliffs at Los Gigantes for many years - I first saw them there about six years ago and they were already well established. About eighteen months ago an adult osprey passed over our heads whilst we were sat on our roof in Sueño Azul - possibly only about eight meters above us.
