Tacoronte - 27.05.2011 -

One of Tenerife's most popular farmers' markets celebrates its 30th anniversary as of this week-end and has organised a range of events to mark the occasion.

The market in Tacoronte, which draws hundreds of foreign visitors every day in addition to locals from across the north of the island, is staging events ranging from food and wine tasting to a honey appreciation course and flower-arranging demonstrations.

The birthday programme kicks off on Saturday and will continue for several weeks.

It's definitely a great place to visit.

It's a farmers' market held every Saturday and Sunday from 8 am until 2 pm year round.

I always take visiting family and guests there and we usually come back loaded down with vegetables, home baked bread and cakes, local honey, fresh eggs and wine, where you buy your wine directly from the producer.

They have a website with a link to many photos. Here's the website. (http://www.mercadillodelagricultor.com/)

Well worth a visit if you like a little morning drive out to the countryside around this northwest coastal part of the island.
