the travelling 'people' do this in Tenerife too. If you notice any vertical lines, between 1 and 3 of them, to the side of a shop, each line means something, like | = not worth it, || = worth breaking into and ||| = already been robbed !!!

In the old days, tramps and hobos were believed to operate a sophisticated coding system by leaving marks outside the homes of people they had visited. Reading this I remember when I was a kid and having "I Spy...." booklets there was one featuring what 'gentlemen of the road' (tramps) used to mark by houses. Similar systems.

Can't be too careful.

VERY INTRESTING .................the other week a so called Forum Troll said he was coming over to Tenerife ,and many on that thread said Gypsies Pikeys Travellers are neither welcomed or would be put up with by the police etc .And would be chased off the island ................YET!!
