A lovely sunny day down here after a small shower this morning, and a nice breeze to blow the washing around on the line. Top temp 16.5C (61.7F) My sunshine gauge has now started working again - there is only one problem - we cut the gauge off so it's just the wires hanging on the pole!!! :crylaughing:

Been a bit dull and miserable down here today, but it's still warm, also a little bit of rain and a strong breeze! top temp only 14C (57.2F), but coldest was 8.7C (47.7F), so not a lot of difference.

Thanks for the gale warnings but, hopefully they will all be on the South coast and miss us. Caravans are always tied down - or rather chained to the ground - but if the wind is too bad it just rips the caravan off the chassis!! I appreciate the invite to Scotland, but I'll hang on here for the time being thanks as have hospital appointments for my eye next week and don't want to miss them. Also, still have happy caravanners living it up the other side of the hedge so can't leave them!!!

The storm's trajectory is unclear but there are fears it may wreak havoc in England and Wales if it hits land.

If it does, it is likely to batter Wales and the South West before sweeping east and touching most of the country.

However, there is a chance it could miss land completely, sweeping instead through the English Channel.

The storm is expected to strike two weeks later than the Great Storm of 1987, which left a trail of destruction on October 15 and 16.

I think since 1987 when they underestimated the severity of the storm the weather forecasters now tend to over estimate how bad it's going to be. We'll see.

My first call was in Manchester and it wasn't too bad. Then back across to Wigan via Warrington and the rain was so bad you couldn't see the vehicle in front of you.

Got to Standish and the difference was unbelievable. Bright grey and not much sign of rain. Almost pleasant really.

Yes its the long range weather forecast ,:flatcap:

:flatcap: November
Although a fairly mixed month, a northwest-southeast split is likely to be a fairly frequent theme during November with northwestern regions often seeing more in the way of unsettled conditions, with locatons southeast likely to see more dry, settled spells. Temperatures are expected to be close to or above the norm for the time of year - so if this occurs it will mean all three autumn months have been warmer than average.

In whit folk like me leave behind.
A lager tin, an auld fish supper, a pile of boak.
Yon pigeon's sneerin',
