Sun back out here after a very heavy shower
KB by the time he clears the weeds here will be time for our jollie Hols again !
Worst weeds we've had ,must be the rain and bit of sun or summit !

Wet soil = easier to pull up.......

Been nice here. Mowing, Clipping, also washing all dry and folded etc..

sorry aint got a Caravan though Santi........(Pity).... a bit more substantial than a Tent...............

We received the same as the Teneruffian from Dublinghamshire. Supposed to have the showers they keep promising us, but just had sunshine and a bit of cloud here and there. Top temp of the day was 21.9C (71.4F) with a nice force 5 breeze to dry the washing. I am getting a bit concerned that I am running out of washing as every day is so nice. I even washed our bedding twice in less than a week because I love the smell of sun dried sheets!!! Perhaps I'll do the lounge curtains on Wednesday, just for a change!!!

And yet another nice sunny day. Had a man from the business rubbish and recycling collections today. He wanted to come early he said and suggested 10am. Early????? Early here is 6.30am. However, he phoned me about 10.15, to say he may be delayed for his 11am visit!! In the end he arrived at about 10.45am. And what did he come for? He came to tell me how much it would cost to have our council supplied refuse and recycling bins emptied. This is because I telephoned a week ago Monday and asked for the bins to be emptied as I have an "On Demand" service. Evidently, because this is my first emptying of the season, I need a man in a Volkswagen, (possibly a Sirocco!), wearing very smart clothing and carrying a mobile phone, (in a leather case!), and a clipboard, to drive here from the St. Austell area - about 25 miles away - to tell me the price may have gone up a bit since last year!! He didn't know the exact price for the refuse collection, but the recycling collection prices were the same as on the letter I received just after Christmas advising me of the new prices. Evidently it is an EU regulation that he visits the place where the bins are kept to ascertain whether or not they are suitable!!! For goodness sake, they supplied them!!!

I told him all I wanted was to have the three bins emptied before they overflowed any more as they get more and more put in them every week. He kindly gave me his card and said that if I had any problems I was to ring him on his mobile and he would sort them out! The temptation to ring him about five minutes after he left here and say that I had a problem was almost overwhelming, but I restrained myself. You would all have been proud of me! However, if the waste and recycling are still there by Friday I think I will send him a text about every ten minutes reminding him of his suggestion that I contact him if I have a problem!!!!!!!!!!

Meanwhile, it has been a lovely warm and sunny day again although it was a little hazy this afternoon while I sat outside with my book for an hour. The top temp was 20.4C (68.7F) although the car thermometer was showing 24C as it was quite sheltered where it was parked. My caravanners are having a lovely time enjoying the sunshine!

Yes, but she doesn't talk, just writes!

Sorry to hear you are indisposed Malty Mo. The only cure is a steaming hot glass of the Scottish amber nectar with a lemon slice and sugar round the top of the glass. It's a sort of hot whisky sour, and after three or four you just won't care about your woman flu, man flu or even dog flu!!!!

Meanwhile, in the interests of keeping on track, the weather down here in St. Piran's land has been hot, hot, hot, and sunny all day and we had a top temp of 23.5C (74.3F) and very little wind. Summer has definitely arrived!!!

Well dearie!!!!

Its a bacteria that gives you a type of food poisponing. It usually comes from infected chicken. Is not a problem when it is boiled or roasted......just dont wash ot first. If you do and it is infected, you spread the germs around......sink....tea towel....work top etc. Then these are NOW infected, but the cooked chicken is not.
This is generally how it spreads.

Me too, Ts, don't know what they're on about. Had campylobacter once too, on holiday in Tenerife!!!!!!! The doc said it was gastroenteritis, but when I got home I had to go and see my own doctor and have tests and it was campylobacter. Had the public health people round to inspect the farm because of possible contamination in the milk!!!! Fortunately I never go anywhere near the milking parlour or dairy so they didn't close us down - but they could have if I had been into contact with the cows, etc.,

It's scorchio here too but without the sun.....

Lovely down here again and my OH says it's set in for some time!!Remember that last year the Met Office forecast ten years of very wet summers - so it looks like we are into the second year of DRY summers because whatever they say, the opposite is usually true!!

Your smalls are lovely and dry, kb, and ready for your collection any time you are passing!!

Top temp today was 22.3C (72.1F) and the breeze barely got up to 20mph.

Absolutely yes. I haven't been for a pint since last Monday and I don't drink at home so once I get rid of,..er, sorry,..take my son home..at 4pm I will indeed be having a few cold ones.

I also don't drink at home and always think those who do have a drink problem!! I know what you mean about the kids visiting always great to see them but better to see the back of them, funny thing is I always seem to be a bit poorer when they leave:doh::lol:

I have the added advantage of being poor before they arrive..

There's only the youngest one (14) comes every weekend now. The last proper conversation I had with him was about a year ago;

Will: Dad, can I have an Ipad?
Me: Yeah ok....

And that was it. Now I only see the top of his head...

Well it always shines on the righteous! Blazing down again here although a bit of a haze in the early afternoon. Top temp for the day was 24.6C (76.3F) and it's still 15.0C here now. It's also still light and the happy campers are having a barbecue (well, some of them). The smell of sausages, bacon and chops is wafting through the french doors so maybe I'll go out and ask them if they are enjoying their hols. Oh, yes, I distinctly heard the clink of bottle on glass - I'm on my way!!
