Yay! It's been raining - well, to be honest it has drizzled a bit, apart from one short and very sharp shower. Still, haven't had to water the garden this evening. Top temp for the day was 18.9C (66.0F) with 7mm of rain.

Here on the West Coast of Jockland it's wall sunshine, with not a cloud to be seen.

Being a decent sort of person, I'm allowing the wife a break from the hard work of maintaining the paintwork of the house and taking her to the marina, where I can enjoy a leisurely breakfast in the sun and watch her cleaning the barnacles of my sons boat, I will of course give her advice before she tackles the job of checking the bearings on the prop shaft.;)

I can accept the sentiment in your post towards my wife, but if she sees your post calling her a "Diamond" will only make it more difficult for me to motivate her to work relentlessly to gain my approval!

She is a woman and as such should understand her purpose in life is to make me happy without praise or reward, allowing her to work today at the marina, is all the reward she needs or more importantly expects.:tiphat:

No mate, Wakes Weeks finished years ago, I think the schools stopped it about '92ish although some firms carried on with it for some time after. Used to be 2 weeks starting from the last but one Saturday in June and a week starting the first Sat in September. (in Oldham that is). That's the only time We could go to Tenerife then, June/July or September. That was the only time the OH could have time off.

Nice weather for the Tour de France, hope it's OK tomorrow, my lad's a volunteer marshall, has to be in Keighley for half 7 in the morning.

Top temp today was 20.6C (69.1F) but still warm overnight.

Yes it's also warm and sunny here on the West Coast of Jockland.

It's a preconception of the English that Scotland is plagued with bad weather, here we have palm trees growing on the seafront and ony very rarely do we get snow that lingers for more than a few hours and if people were to travel further north to Wester Ross they will find buetiful sub-tropical gardens.:wow:

It's a bit dull here on the West Coast of Jockland, but the forecast for later in the day is good, so I think it's a case of fill up the car and head off to Helensburgh or Loch Lomond or even Tighnabruaich for a ice cream.

Life on the edge as usual Eric..

Change of plans, headed South instead of North, we went down to Girvan and on the way stopped at Minishant for a ice cream. On the way home we had high tea in Maidens, stopped at the Electric Brae and then into Danure for a coffee and a bun. Stopped in Ayr for Carol to buy dinner for tonight.

We intended to stop at Souters Inn at Kirkoswald, but it was packed out with holiday makers.

Now fat and content, sitting in the house with a cream cake that we bought in Ayr!:)

Oh....the sun shone all day.

Coffe and Bun in Dunure ?- did you not get any with your High Tea ?
Nice drive down the coastal route to Girvan, you could have stopped off at Turnberry to comb Donald Trump's wig as the breeze today would have messed it up !

well we've got plenty of it at this end of the country. Dried up not but for how long:dontknow:

Great "Midge" weather, ideal for the good old traditional Scottish barbeque, cook the burger and then run indoors for the glass of Whisky, which I'm told stops the itching of the bite.

It's also grey and dull here, but looking westwards it appears to be brightening up.

Due to yesterday's inclement weather, Carol could not cut back the overgrown brambles, but she did manage to clear out the loft of various rubbish and on a even more positive note, she found a tin of moss depressant that will enable her later today to treat the heavy growth of moss on the roof at the rear of the property.

Try and be a bit more adventurous in your description of today's weather!

eg.
It is now sunny in Aberdeen and the passing clouds that were carrying the rain have departed to other parts.

Now that sound a lot better.
