Oh by the way, my travel insurance have reimbursed me for the holiday cancellation when Maureen was poorly, got it all back less about £150, so pleased with that.

The Greenalls factory is now a big Morrisons supermarket and the Tetleys brewery was knocked down and turned into our rugby stadium. Ironically for our team formally known as "The Wires" named after all the wire factories we had.......They've all gone as well....lol

We do a lot of work for Hydes Brewery and also Joseph Holt. Both independent Manchester brewers and they seem to be doing really well considering how many pubs are boarded up these days.

We also have a litle independent here in Warrington called the Coach House Brewery who seem to be going strong. That might be one for LUCKY to try when he's home.

This weather is doing my heid in as they say in Scottieland . Only 5 weeks back but thought I would find something reasonable if we were not too fussy about accomadation . BIG mistake . it started raining here at 7.30 this morning. and it hasn't let up yet. in fact it's getting heavier. but it sounds great on the conservatory roof:lol:. in fact that would be the thing i missed most if we went to live in tenerife;). my mom recons the reason i love it so much is because as a baby, she used to put me outside in my pram with the hud up, in the pouring rain, and i would be asleep within minutes:lol:

Rain and 13° this morning. It stopped for an hour or so and now it looks like it's here for the next few days, currently heavy drizzle. It seems like years ago since I was on Fanabe beach when it was only 10 days. Trying for a few days in September but prices are ridiculous from Manchester.

Still battering down here , its so awful. What makes it so much worse is that I cant find 2 flights below £800 to get away from it.It looks as though we are going to have to look for a cheaper destination . So funny I have been reading excuses for the high fares to Tenerife , here are a few of them 1The travel companies know something we don't ,Tenerife is next for a terror attack andthey don't want to have the trouble of getting folk home . 2 Travel Agents have been told to put the prices up for that reason too. 3 Tenerife only want the kind of tourist whe can afford the overinflated prices and get a better class of tourist . Sorry really off thread now !!

Spent a lovely afternoon in Ecky homeland yesterday , sat watching the ferries and then a lovely wee surprise the Waverley , that's a paddle steamer for those of you who don't know what I am talking about . That took us down memory lane for a time . I have a question for Ecky though , where have all the seagulls gone ? Last time we were there they were awful and very intimidating , dive bombing small children for food. Yesterday though, think we counted about 4 all day , it was a pleasure and quiet too .Sorry meant to say it was dry and sunny for a change :lol:
