Yellow alert for heatwave this weekend
July 28th, 2011

Update 28 July: As expected, the alert has been extended, and now covers Saturday too, again during day time, between 11am and 7pm.

Aemet has announced a yellow alert for heatwave from Friday for Tenerife (tomorrow for Gran Canaria) for temperatures up to 35ºC. At present Tenerife’s alert starts at 11am on Friday and lasts until 7pm, though it is of course possible that the alert will be extended as the position becomes clearer.

You should have come to Scotland, we have had a heat wave for the last week and even after being in Tenerife for three weeks, I still managed
to get sun-burnt.:sunbathe:

Slodge, I think the reason we both got burnt, was due to our receding hair line!

Is Michael Fish working for AEMET? blowing a gale here in Chio but the forecast never mentioned that. Oscar insisted on going for his walk, typical, but we didnt get far first tree he cocked his leg on he got blown over. Funny thing though we normally meet half a dozen people and not a sole today!

Very hot here in San Miguel, trying to do housework is a nightmare, have to keep stopping and stand under the fans lol. That bottle of Rose chilling in the fridge is very tempting now ;)

Work all week so today is housework day unfortunately and Sunday is total chillaxing day. Any sand left after the heatwave will wait till next week. Anyway working up a sweat/thirst is a good excuse to open the cold wine later ;)

Here, too. Not realising this heatwave was coming we invited some friends to dinner and overnight and promised them roast lamb. Just rang to check they were coming and they said, oh, yes, looking forward to it. So just cleaned up their room and I am soooo hot. I'd love a glass of your rose, Jackie, sounds perfect.
