I have a problem with any "new" page that i open, it opens behind another one, e.g. I always have my email open and if I am browsing a thread and i go onto the next page of that thread, the "new" page will open behind the email page. Also, it is only happening on this forum. ( I'm still getting a "red square" when I log on telling me that I have a response to my helpdesk ticket but I ( apparently) don't have authority to delete any of my old tickets thath are closed?????). Would anyone be able to help? I don't want to bother Slodgedad again if I can help it.

I have deleted your Help Tickets rather than just close them, see if that resolves the issue.

As for your problem with ghost pages, perhaps someone else can advise..

Thanks CNS, I'll log out now. The problem with the page started yesterday. I was away for 10 days and when I came back, it was acting up.

Let me know if it keeps happening once you have logged out then back in again.

If that doesn't work, clear your computer cookies and that should sort it

What is 'Automatic Login'?
When you register (and also when you login using the form at the top of the screen), you will be given the option to 'Remember Me'. This will store your identity securely in a cookie on your computer. If you are using a shared computer, such as in a library, school or internet cafe, or if you have reason to not trust any other users that might use this computer, we recommend you do not enable this.
How do I clear cookies?
You can clear all your cookies set by the forum by clicking the 'logout' link at the top of the page. In some cases, if you return to the main index page via the link provided and you are still logged in, you may have to remove your cookies manually.
In Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP: Click the 'Tools' menu. Select 'Internet Options' from the menu that appears. Click 'Delete Cookies' on the dialog box that appears. It will be in the center area of the 'General' tab.
In Internet Explorer 7: Click the 'Tools' menu. Select 'Internet Options' from the menu that appears. Click 'Delete...', beneath 'Browsing History' on the dialog box that appears. It will be in the center area of the 'General' tab. Click 'Delete cookies...' on the next dialog box that appears.
In Firefox: Click the 'Tools' menu. Select 'Options' from the menu that appears. From the dialog box, select 'Privacy' on the left. Find 'Cookies' on the main pane, and click the 'Clear' button adjacent to it.
In Safari: Go to Preferences, Security, then show Cookies and either select 'Remove all' or select individual cookies and then the 'Delete' button.
In Opera: Go to Tools, Preferences, Advanced, Cookies, Manage cookies then select the name of this site and click the 'Delete' button.
Your cookies should now be removed. You may want to restart the computer and revisit the forums to be sure.
Other browsers may have a different method of clearing cookies. Refer to the documentation for your own browser if you are unsure.

Always best once clearing cookies to reboot your PC/Laptop

hope this solves it mate

I would either change your browser to firefox or google chrome Dok, IE8 can still stay on your PC but its not the best for on here in my opinion!!!

Yup..i agree with Al Jay on this one,Internet Explorer is possibly the worst browser on the net(archaic),you cannot go wrong with Firefox, trust me on that one

I haven't been able to replicate this problem so it's a bit difficult to offer specific advice. However, I do specifically use Opera (http://www.opera.com/) for the Forum, so there is another option for you to consider.

thanks everybody for the suggestions. I've been thinking about switching browsers for some time though I'm a little apprehensive as I am so used to IE. Will install Google Chrome first as I've tried Firefox before but didn't really like it at the time. :)

Am now using Google Chrome. The "hidden" page problem has disappeared. The pages certainly seem to be loading a lot quicker. Also, the "red" square problem seems to have rectified itself ( Thanks Slodge). If its not too much trouble, would anyone know if it is possible to import my "favourite tabs" from IE8 to Google Chrome?
