View Full Version : Do the residents on Golf Costa Adeje know what is coming?

Fred Perry

I have been hearing during the last few days about a mega-rave organised for the Golf Costa Adeje site (where past concerts have seen Rod Stewart, Elton John etc) on Sat Aug 6th (next week).

Firstly it does not affect me in the slightest but I am very suprised to hear about this. Have the local residents been informed about the 15 hour bash? It starts at 3pm and goes on until 6am the next morning. Free transport is being arranged from Las Americas that does not even leave until midnight. Thumping rave/dance music.

I thought the organisers were going to bring quality tourism to the Island? Releasing details about this event just one week before will not mean an increase in tourism that is clear, there is no time for people to re-arrange holidays.

It will attract thousands of youngsters from Santa Cruz/La Laguna and letīs be honest they do not stay up all night just by drinking!

No, as I said it does not bother me but residents of the Golf; donīt come on here afterwards complaining. It is obviously going to be a hell of a night.

I would imagine it's more likely to be held in the old Tropicana complex, where other such events have taken place...

However, why would you finish your post by telling residents of Adeje Golf not to come on here complaining afterwards about it? Chances are they neither know about it or had anything to do with the planning of it... ???

But it is being held on the grass outdoor where the other concerts have been. That is what I have read.
I suppose they do know about it but perhaps think it is like the other concerts where everyone is tucked up in bed by 1am.

I have a sneaky idea that the hosting of this event have only just come to light(8 days before) so the residents do not have time to do anything about it. Perhaps I am wrong, not sure. Maybe someone knows more about it out there.

It certainly won't be held in Tropicana ... Nooctua are about to relaunch their Southern branch there - tonight, in fact ... word of warning, there will no doubt be lots of police checkpoints in that area ;)

Bit off, though, not advertising it well in advance for tourists, or is it to keep the locals happy without affecting the local visitor economy?

(Personal opinion. Nothing to do with my mod status)

.. and not great scheduling either given that one of the other Mega Star DJ's David Guetta is here in less than a week

Nothing wrong with the YOUNG having a good time in our beloved Tenerife , they have the right to party the same as us , old and not so old folk . Just my opinion .

That is your opinion but you have missed the point (typical for someone with a Che Guevarra avatar):fpull:
All I am saying is that I am suprised that this TYPE of event is in the LOCATION that it is. I am just trying to find out if the residents know that this is not just another concert. I am also suprised that the advertising has started just one week before (and one week later there is the big concert in Las Americas)

You're on about Tiesto?

That's been advertised for months.

Tickets went on sale about two weeks back, IIRC.

I dont think its anything to do with my avatar , i will say , we where all young once and our parents prob said the same about the music we liked but music brings different things to different people so live and let live . As to the location of the event , it would have had to be passed by the powers that be , the same powers that passed Elton John , Rodney Stewart and the likes . As DJ stated , the venue was advertised long ago so if there where any objections to the event then objections could be lodged with the Adeje council . It also brings revenue to the area but maybe their revenue isnt welcome ? , im glad these TYPE of events are being held , young people spend euros just as much , if not more than their elders , as i said , just my opinion tho .

Yup, its been promoted on the radio for the best part of two months now, is on the greens at the golf club, and I'm sure it will be L O U D !!

PS, since he is Dutch I'm sure he will have attracted a lot of his European followers here as well.

PPS " Do the residents on Golf Costa Adeje know what is coming" - hopefully not another "perfect storm" just in time !!

You now see what happens when you allude to it being typical of a Che admirer thereby missing the point. EH? This event has been talked about by the young troops living in San Isidro for the best part of 6 weeks. Hardly last minute, don,t you think?

Its not too loud actually................................. though my windows are shut................... lol

when I can be bothered to get off the sofa I will have a listen...............

Ooh, I can sense a strong bass line....................... but I am only aware of it since I started reading this thread!!!

I'm used to it anyway, we get lots of fiestas here and also echos from the cafe by the side of the motorway till all hours on a Saturday night!!!

Anyway, if you think that is bad.................. wait till you see what we are organising for the third year running

Fred I have never ever had a problem with you on here and always respect what you post, but your line in your OP regarding the youngsters not staying up all night just by drinking means what exactly ? If, as I take it to mean they are using drugs then I resent that comment. My kids can party all night without the need of drugs so please do not tar all youngsters with the same brush, even this old bird can party all night without the need to indulge;)

Up until a couple years ago, I too could party all night without the use of drugs... and on a good day, I may still be able to muster up the energy, but it would have to be a very good day ;)

My only issue with the post was his obvious distaste for such events, even though it doesn't affect him at all, and finishing by saying he hoped the residents didn't come on here moaning about it after... Surely if they are unaware it's taking place, or even if they are but were outvoted as to it being held, they have plenty of reason to moan... Just as the person who isn't affected by it is doing now ???

Before you say it again Fred, this isn't Fred Perry bashing day, just a difference in opinion...

Some of us are old before our time. Not mentioning names, the kids need somwhere to go and why should they no have organised licensed parties.
Noctua opened last night and althoygh you could hear the music it wasn't a problem. I wish them luck as they had a whole lot of grief with their last location in the south.
As to the party I would guess this will be down by where they held the concerts.

Don't know what you mean about just announced as I have been advised about ticket purchases required for my children for nearly 2 months

Come off the TF that is signposted La Caleta/Adeje/Campo del golf... take the La Caleta road and it's on your immediate right... can't miss it, it's a huge place on it's own.

No hotels or apartments particularly close... look for Hiper Trebol... it's behind there! or Costa Adeje golf, Tropicana is at the top of that road (nearest to TF) ;)

We need Harmonicaman, with his super special maps... :)
