Various associations & Tenerife Fan Clubs have rallied to the cause of a 9 month old baby, Giovanny, who is in urgent need of a liver transplant. Giovanny´s father is a member of the CDT Fan Group Frente Blanquiazul and the mother is the Tenerife Carnaval Queen 2009. They have fallen on very hard times due to the fact that they have been in Madrid for months waiting for the transplant and also waiting for the courts to grant permission for the mother,Ana María Tavárez, to donate part of her liver to the baby.

A concert has been organised for the 20th August by the Frente Blanquiazul in Santa Cruz.

The cost of a ticket is 5€. If you cannot go perhaps buy a ticket, all proceeds go directly to the family. I will have the tickets soon.

Also, Armada sur will be holding a raffle during the next couple of weeks.
The first prize being;
PABLO SICILIA´S ORIGINAL CDT SHIRT WORN LAST SEASON

Thanks to everyone on the Armada Sur coach last Sunday. We managed to raise some money when a "football card" was passed around.
This Sunday will be the main day(and the last) for fundraising for the small lad Giovanny. His operation is infact tomorrow in Madrid and the family still need help.

The concert is next Saturday night and the tickets are 5€ each. I do not think any of us will be going to the concert but we will hold another football card on the coach next Sunday (Vecindario game) at 5€ each.

Prizes are listed above (and could be added to). If anyone wishes to help but are not going on the coach, I will be in The Toby Jug from 1.30pm next Sunday until 2.30pm when the bus leaves. I will also be outside our bar in Santa Cruz from 4pm until 5pm match kick off. The draw will be made before the match and all money raised will be presented at half-time.

The operation today was a success and the baby will need to be in Intensive care for a few weeks and in hospital recovering for 3 months minimum in Madrid. The family ofcourse will stay in Madrid until the baby is released and this is where any funds raised will be invalueable.

The football card we are organising will have 80 clubs on @ 5€ each. If we could fill that it would be fantastic. Remember Sunday is the last day. The Club mentioned the fund raising on their website today.

A big thanks to everyone today! We managed to raise 440€ for Giovanny and his family. I handed the cash over at half-time in the stadium and the money will be passed on tomorrow. They were over the moon with that.

"CaroleTenerife" (from TF Forum) won the CD Tenerife shirt with 2nd prize (t-shirt) being won by Frank.
