View Full Version : Is it better to change money in the UK or in Tenerife?

Had a look at the sticky thread of exchange rates and it said yesterday that the rate was 1.12 in Tenerife and the post office is showing 1.1132 ... is it really worth the hassle of changing over there as we are only changing £500 anyway.

That is entirely up to you........................................ Tenerife licensed exchange offices always tend to be maybe one point higher than the UK and commission free........................

There is no problem with changing money in Tenerife, its not worth the risk of carrying large amounts of cash about.

I have always advised family and friends to just bring enough Euros for their immediate needs and change the rest here.

They've always been happy with my advice.
