Can I copy my CDs and DVDs onto my laptop?

I am so not computer savvy, lol,:laugh:
Can I put a c.d or d.v.d in my laptop. , and copy it onto the laptop so I dont need to insert the disc when I want to listen to them or watch them. If so how do I do this, I would be grateful for a fools guide to this if possible, many thanks in advance, :D

once the CD is inserted,
Go To My Computer
Right Click on the CD Drive
Left Click Explore
Highlight all items that's needed to be copied.
Right Click on one of the highlighted items then click Copy
Go to the location on your Laptop you wish to copy it to and right click then click Paste.
This may take a while depending on how much data is being copied
lots of DVDS will eat up your memory though...
